Things like this happen all the time. Our stories are always being taken and worked into what they call “fiction”. Truth is, there are a lot of secrets about us and our history in the mainstream media. Especially in underground media. All it takes is searching for what you seek.

Although very successful, garnering over 350 million viewers, the series most definitely received criticism for inaccurate portrayals of historical figures (Specifically Shaka himself) and the primary focus on violence; common tropes of American-made media featuring People of Color. Public suspicion would arise even more due to the financial support the series received from the then-apartheid government of South Africa.

This series was created and had much of the same effect as “Roots” did among Black people but it seems as though the series was swept under the rug and forgotten about more than the other. Whatever the case may be, the point is for us to hold onto our history, culture, and knowledge of Self so that we can pass it align to the next generation and our future descendants won’t have to wonder about who they are or where they come from.

Remember Who You Are 👁‍🗨

“Framed around Queen Victoria's decision on England's political stance towards the Zulu Nation, this mini-series details King Shaka's rise and fall with mythic detail. Prophecy is mixed with recorded fact regarding Shaka's birth, exile, innovations in warfare, assumption of the throne, building of the Zulu Empire, first contact with Europe, and the events that lead to his downfall” - Renee Ann Byrd,

Check out this 1986 LA Times article criticizing the show for its negative portrayals.

Some may find it hard to believe, but just about everything you can see and use was made by Black people! Whitewashing has always attempted to taint the legacy of our brightest minds. However, they weren't betting on us rediscovering ourselves 😊

Documented history, patents, photographs and first-hand accounts throughout the years have given us a solid enough scope of melenated people's large hand in molding the modern world.

Our knowledge and technology extends further into ancient times as well. Be on the lookout for a post on that later today... 😉

Stay tuned and stay true, B.O.M.B Squad Family! Happy Black History to y'all 💪🏾

Celebrating the rich legacy of Black history during this special month 🖤✊🏿👑 Let's honor the vision and efforts of Carter G. Woodson and remember that Black History Month was just a stepping stone in our journey towards self-awareness and freedom from oppression.

We need to tap into our spiritual roots, form deeper connections with our families and friends, research things more, dive into our ancient history and relearn about all the glorious feats that made us the greatest and most hated in the world.

They fear what overpowers them. We have the power. We've always had the power. And our power isn't limited to just a single month every year while the rest of the year is just "business as usual".

Also, that last picture is interesting. Isn't it?

Stay tuned, God's & Goddesses. And stay true 🏆

Money doesn't change people, it shows you who they've always been. Although, change is good sometimes. It always depends on who you are and the circumstances that affect you.

We should also be happy for others when they go through transitions in their lives. Everyone is on their own path and as long as we get to where we're destined to go, everything we do in the meantime is worthwhile.

Work hard, get that promotion.

Call your family, tell them you love them.

Make amends, grudges only hurt you.

Live peacefully, life is too precious.

I've often thought about this. In the grand scheme of things, money doesn't really matter. Anyone with even a slight grasp on reality knows this. However, until we DO meet our end, we have to make ends meet. For the sake of ourselves, our families, and others.

But then, you have to do things that you usually don't enjoy in order to make this money. Like working an unforgiving job that makes you miserable. So you're trading your time and energy for a paycheck to live comfortably... yet you're still in an objectively uncomfortable position. Then there's the whole matter of what it is that makes us happy and how money can truly be a source of genuine happiness.

This is the plight that many of us face daily. But with knowledge of finances and more importantly, knowledge of Self, those who are struggling will find their way to comfort and riches 💯 💰 🌟

Patrick Henry "Pat" Chappelle (January 7, 1869 – October 21, 1911), was a Black entrepreneur, who established and ran The Rabbit's Foot Company, a leading traveling vaudeville show in the first part of the twentieth century.

Chappelle was born in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Lewis Chappelle and his wife Anna, who had been slaves in Newberry County, South Carolina. After slavery was “abolished” (see 13th Amendment IN FULL), they left South Carolina with their relatives and other freed slaves to help construct the suburban neighborhood of LaVilla in Jacksonville, which became a center of Black culture in Florida.

Pat Chappelle was musically gifted. He and his brothers and cousin learned musical skills from some of their relatives. Pat learned how to play the guitar and piano, but was best known for his proficiency in banjo. He left school after the fourth grade and played guitar in traveling string bands. He started playing in hotels on the East Coast and was discovered by a prestigious vaudeville circuit owner, Benjamin Franklin Keith, who offered him bookings with the Museum circuit in Boston and New York City.Later, he performed in Florida restaurants and saloons.

Chappelle became known as one of the biggest employers of Black folk in the entertainment industry, with multiple tent-traveling shows and partnerships in strings of theaters and saloons. Chappelle was described at that time as the "Pioneer of Negro Vaudeville" and "The Black P. T. Barnum," and was the only Black person to fully operate a traveling show solely composed of other Black entertainers.

Pat Chappelle died in October 1911 at his home in LaVilla, aged 42. At his death, he was said to be "one of the wealthiest colored citizens of Jacksonville, Fla., owning much real estate”.

Young Black Moguls: Micah Harrigan (micahsmixx) Founder and CEO of “Micah’s Mixx”.

Being featured on the , , and having his product supported by , Micah’s business has been growing like crazy since the day he sold his first cup of lemonade. He and his supportive mother started their own lemonade stand a few years ago in Philadelphia. They currently operate out of “OCF Coffee House” in Philly, too.

The business is receiving any and all donations/contributions for it to acquire an actual storefront to further expand the business. Very inspirational stuff here, and some great people helping support Micah's dreams of being a “Top-Level CEO”. Although, in my humble opinion, he's already there. Shoot, he's a lot further than most adults I know.

Now y'all make sure to go get this Summer! 🍋🥤
