Himanuel from Hima Vision spoken word at the UMass Boston’s 2018 African Night. Theme: “Upendo and Amani” meaning Love and Peace in Swahili hosted by at the UMass Boston African Student Union in Boston on April 2018
From Himanuel himself:
I am a former foster child with a lot of varying experiences, that have given me a perception of life at an early age. I utilize the concept of sharing my experiences, thoughts, lessons, goals, inspirations, aspirations, and more to influence people, mainly youth, in to accepting who they are. While simultaneously helping them grow more into their highest potential of self. I believe freedom of expression allows you to accept trauma and begin healing. I aim to lead by example, using poetry as my freedom of expression. I hope that my words reach the ears and hearts of someone who may appreciate them. For any bookings, please email me at: [email protected].

Africans in Boston invited Oja express to introduce their services to Bostonians
OjaExpress serves as a turnkey platform for small to medium sized ethnic grocers, helping them to enhance their omni- channel capabilities. Boyede Sobitan witnessed the difficulties Nigerian families living on Chicago’s predominately Black South Side experienced in finding key ingredients for many of their popular dishes. Coming from a Nigerian family himself, he says he understood the importance of easily accessing those ingredients. He saw the problem and felt called to solve it, he says. And thus, OjaExpress was born. The delivery app for African and Caribbean foods was his solution to the lack of cultural grocery stores in Chicago.
