To my Family, the Cross Community:
First, I want to say thank you to everyone, whether you made a small or large donation or no donation at all (advice was given, too). As of 07/03/20, $$14,453.77 has been collected. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed in our efforts to replace the HVAC system at the Center. This will allow a more comfortable atmosphere when you visit. The following contractor, Smalls HVAC has been awarded the work for
$10,040 that include warranty and service/replacement will be done by his company as well.
Secondly, some community members have proposed other work that they would like to see done at the center. We (who) agree; however, for us to make those changes additional funding is needed. One possible mean would be to increase the Center usage fee from $175to $200-250. The increase will be reasonable and in line with other facilities in the area.
In addition, the property insurance company is requiring a suppression system for the kitchen hood. The cost of $2351.00 and very necessary to be able to allow the use of the kitchen. We have applied for financial assistance from our elected officials.
Martin Marietta is our lone corporate sponsor to date and is generous in their support to the Cross Community Center. If your place of employment provides grants, or community service (501 c(3) matching dollars, please forward info, so that the Center may be added to their list.
Again, thank you for all you have done and will do to help our community center prosper!! Note: for local family and friends, community meeting is held on the 1st Tuesday at 7 pm (summer and 6 pm winter). Come help make our community better!
