Capital Flights Rock the Ramp - Event Parking information...

Event organizers recommend parking at either Firefighters Park or Penni Klein Park. Both are located via sidewalk (show in ORANGE/BLACK) about half a mile west of the Capital Flight hangar. A small parking lot is located at the airport terminal building, and there is a portion of grass for folks who cannot walk as far. On-street parking is available along the streets south of the airport. Please take a look at both maps for an overview and a more detailed view of the grounds. Capital Flight's small parking lot will NOT be available for parking.

Saturday, August 10: Middleton Book Fair, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Terrace Avenue Pavilion at Capital Brewery (7734 Terrace Avenue, Middleton). This event is free for anyone to sell, buy or trade books, magazines, maps, .... The Capital Brewery Bier Garten will be open, and many good local bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance.

Stop by the Rowley Museum 7410 Hubbard Ave. and take a Stroll -N Tell walking tour with Mike Davis at 10 am or visit the museum any time before 1 pm. You probably won't need a hat and coat like Ed Kromrey, but we won't judge you if you do. We love hats.

MGE OUTAGE UPDATE | May 22, 2024, 5:30 a.m.

MGE is responding to storm-related outages. Restoration is expected to take multiple days.

MGE crews continue working to restore service to more than 30,000 electric customers still impacted by the storms that came through our area on Tuesday night. More than 250 separate outage incidents impacted more than 42,000 customers during the storm, making this one of the largest outages in MGE history.

With daybreak arriving, our damage assessment teams will be able to better assess the extent of storm damage. Widespread damage from this storm includes numerous broken poles, downed trees, branches and wires. It often takes the majority of a workday to repair one broken pole.

Public safety is our first priority. With the number of downed power lines, we remind everyone to stay clear of damaged areas and never approach a downed power line or anything that comes in contact with it. Always assume a power line is energized and extremely dangerous and stay away. If you see a downed line, please notify MGE immediately by calling (608) 252-7111 or 1-800-245-1123. MGE crews will continue working throughout the day Wednesday to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. We currently do not have an estimated restoration time for those customers without service, but this is expected to be a multiday restoration effort. Impacted customers should plan now to be without power for multiple days.

Like other utilities across Wisconsin, MGE is reaching out to our mutual assistance groups in an effort to secure additional crews to help with our restoration efforts. The storm that impacted the Madison area also impacted several other parts of the state and region, meaning that many of our neighboring utilities also are impacted by storm damage and looking for mutual assistance.

Customers who have not yet reported a loss of power should call MGE at (608) 252-7111 or 1-800-245-1123 to report an outage or any incidents of downed wires.
