In 2019, an Indian High Court ruling declared that all citizens in the state of Haryana were declared persons in loco parentis (in place of a parent), enabling them to act as guardians for all nonhuman animals in the state of Haryana.

With this decision, India takes another big step forward in the global struggle for recognition and protection of nonhuman rights.

Day 5 of being sick 🤧 & this girl has been my absolute nanny dog. She has been keeping a watchful eye on me, bringing me toys, groaning at me and sometime offering me her paw to let me know she’s there with me and for me. Guys, she’s totally hovering like a little mama! 🥰
