The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale touring replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will will make a stop Tuesday morning at Archdale’s Creekside Park and begin motorcycle-escorted trip to South Asheboro Middle School that leaves at noon. Organizers are asking the public to come out and show their support.

Billy Gene Myers Jr., 30, and Christina Ashley Myers, 32, were charged with felony child abuse after an investigation that began Monday, July 24, after deputies went to Needhams Trail, northeast of Seagrove, where they found the 5-year-old girl dead, the sheriff’s office said. The sheriff’s office said that “evidence was located” that resulted in the Myerses' arrests but did not say what the evidence was.

A Seagrove-area couple has been charged with felony child abuse in connection with the death of their 5-year-old daughter, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said.

An earlier threat was deemed unsubstantiated, but one late Sunday will lead to criminal charges.
