My latest short screened today at the 29 Takes Five Minute Film Festival. Shot on a phone, it is a drama starring Athena Guest. She wasn’t there to see it, but the praise for her acting skill was high from all I talked to. Thanks, Athena!!!

CASTING CALL: Different Path Productions and 29 Takes Productions are now auditioning for our Cinevic DYNAMO screenplay, Sandcastles.

This film is Non-Union. In lieu of payment, the volunteer actors and crew receive IMDB credit, food and fun.

We would like to audition for the following:

Steven (LEAD): Steven is 21, and lives with a mild developmental delay. He sees himself as a strong and resourceful partner, and hopes one day to marry Aimee. He undergoes a change in his life that leads to complications with his family.

VIVIAN (Viv) - Is a 50 year old woman who gave up her career to look after Steven. She is calm and nurturing, but also a bit of a worrier. Vivian is a good communicator which is a by product of being a teacher in her past profession. Vivian adores Aimee and thinks it helps Steven in his everyday life. Decisions that she and her husband make about Steven has a large impact on her marriage.

ROSS- (50) is Vivian’s husband. Ross is a manager of a pharmaceutical company, and is used to making tough decisions and living with them. He does not doubt himself often, and believes he knows what is best for his family. He greatly values his friendship with Dennis, Aimee’s Dad.

LINDA- (52) is Aimee’s mother. Linda has a heart of gold and is very compassionate toward others. Her support of her husband Dennis is honest and true. She has not had an easy life, but looks at the positives much more than the negatives. She adores Steven and thinks that marriage is a great end goal for the two.

DENNIS- (54) is a tradesman and Aimee’s Dad. His devotion to his family is his guiding light. Dennis can be defensive of his daughter, sometimes making wrong assumptions before knowing all the details. Linda helps to keep Dennis grounded as he listens to her respectfully.

We would like to audition our two leads first. At this time, we are auditioning for:

Aimee: a 21-year-old woman with Down Syndrome. Aimiee is fun and bubbly , with a great sense of humour. She is very brave (except perhaps around bees). She is dating Steven and hopes to marry him.

Steven: Steven is also 21, and lives with a mild developmental delay. He sees himself as a strong and resourceful partner, and hopes one day to marry Aimee. He undergoes a change in his life that leads to complications with his family.
