I do want to clarify...The Music Community Awards is a segment of the Onyx Urban Media Awards. The MCA's is focused on the music community. The Onyx Awards is focused on music & podcasts that currently play on Onyx Urban Radio. The Onyx Award nominees will be announced on April 1st. Those categories are....

Fun Fact: I'm dyslexic & have ADD. I've always struggled reading out loud and staying focused but I hid it all my life from everyone, including my family. I would stay up till 11pm to 12am on a school night just to study because I couldn't stay focused.

Numbers are the worst. Sometimes I can feel it coming on and can stop it. Its like my eyes see things as they are but when I comes out of my mouth it's switched. 3113 becomes 1331 for example.

Everyone thought I was smart growing up bc I took college prep courses. I even won the Optimist Essay Writing Contest in high school but I struggled every single day so so bad to keep up.

Today...I face my disabilities head on. My day job consists of reading scripts all day long to incoming callers, literally one of the hardest things for me to do and I've been doing this type of work off and on for over 12 years. I'm saying all this to say....

NEVER LET YOUR DISABILITIES DICTATE WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH!! PERIOD!
