ORIGIN STORY
The concept of the “Juxtaposition Podcast” originated in 2017 when Felicia Mullins and a former Mentor had the idea to write a book called “Juxtaposition” about the variety of political, economic and social issues that led to the installation of an authoritarian and white nationalist regime in America. As they discussed their idea over several months, they decided to abandon it because there were already several books on the topic. Months later, Felicia had an “AHA” moment! She thought it a great idea to produce a podcast about local perspectives on global issues. And where local citizens can share their life stories, talents and professions with a global audience. JUXTAPOSITION WAS BORN! However, it took another year before it became fully realized.
The first podcast was designed as a “Demo” for Ocean Shores, Washington’s KOSW Radio Station at 91.3 FM. The Radio Station was not interested in the podcast, and Felicia and her Mentor decided to continue with a YouTube show. Today, the Podcast has produced 10 videos, gained 45 subscribers, and has a line up of incredible guests for the 2o2o Season - the show’s first season!
Felicia’s goal is for Juxtaposition to reach 100 Subscribers by September 2020, so she can obtain a branded YouTube URL, and then begin the process of forming it into a non-profit community media organization in Grays Harbor County, Washington.
VISION STATEMENT: Juxtaposition envisions a world where each voice is heard and valued, and where every community is acknowledged and understood.
