Comment “table” and I’ll send the plans your way! Now the question is should I build the chairs or buy them?
priced out Ikea cabinets for this build and I was actually shocked it was more expensive.
I love that not only do we have a unique design for our closet but we saved $$$ doing it.
How do you think it turned out? Would you build your own?
I couldn’t wait to show you! I applied Rubio in cotton white. What do you think of the white oak with this paint color?
I don’t know who needs to hear this but it’s time to organize that closet you’ve been avoiding.
How long do you think she will keep it organized? 😅

These Easter baskets will last forever. With the help of @cricut I personalized them for each of my daughters. This was my first time using the Cricut Joy Xtra and I can’t believe how easy it was! #adThere are so many designs to choose from in Design Space, and from there I could play around with the design to get it exactly how so wanted it, cut it out and then stick it right on. I used a combination of the Sticker paper and the Smart Vinyl. #cricutmade #easterbasket #diyprojects
Step by step of how to build your own glass cabinet doors 👇🏻
I learned this shaker door method from @parkplaceabode and had to try it out on my cabinet. She has the best tutorials.
Instead of glass (which is hella expensive) I bought a sheet of acrylic from @homedepot for $65 and it was much easier to cut.
• Cut your pieces to size. Make sure you add 1” in length for the shorter pieces (the rails). Since the tenon you make will be 1/2” on each side.
• First you’ll be cutting the mortise on the stiles (the longer pieces). Set your blade to 1/2” in height and the blade should be 1/4” away from the fence.
• Make sure you cut a test piece first!
• Run your stiles through the saw then flip it around and cut it again. This will center the groove on the stiles.
• Now do the opposite! Adjust the fence so it’s 1/2” away from the blade (including the thickness of the blade) and the blade height to 1/4”.
• Using the miter gauge on your table saw, cut the tenons on each side of your rails. Go slow and you may need to make adjustments to the height of the blade or the distance from the fence in order for the tenon to fit into the mortise.
• Glue up the door, making sure the ends are flush and the cabinet is square. You can check for square by using a square or by measuring with a tape measure from corner to corner.
• To route out the groove for the glass, use a 3/8” rabbeting bit (Amazon is your bestie 😘). Set the depth of the rabbet to 3/8”.
• Insert your glass and use glass retaining clips to keep the glass in place.
I hope you found this helpful!

Here are the steps for the perfect Dado joint 👇🏻- Mark where you want your Dado to be using a square, make a line. - Put the piece of wood that will slide into the dado onto that line. - Push a piece of scrap right up against that piece of wood and clamp it down really well. - Remove the piece that you will be sliding into the Dado. - Use a top bearing mortising bit (if you comment “link” I’ll send the one I use) and adjust it to the depth you need. I like using stop blocks to help me adjust the depth. The rule is the depth should not be more than 1/2” the thickness of the wood. (for 3/4” thick wood it would be 3/8” deep) - Go slow with the router, making sure the bit presses up against the scrap piece and you’ll make a perfect Dado! Daybeds save so much space!
Since a lot of the ones available are usually twin size I decided to make a full to give my daughter more room to grow.
I built this bed in sections - a headboard, side panels and a front piece so it can easily be detached if need be but still be incredibly sturdy.

Step by Step 👇🏻
This taper jig for the miter saw is super easy!
1. Cut the base for the jig to size. 15” length x 17” wide. I just used a scrap piece of MDF.
2. Cut the two smaller scrap pieces to size. The top piece that sits on the miter saw fence is 17.5” long and 2.5” wide.
The piece that sits close to the saw blade is 20” long and 2.5” wide.
3. Attach the top piece first, leaving 5 inches of overhang on the left side of the jig. Glue and screw from the bottom. It helps if you countersink your screws.
4. Attach the side piece next. Butting it up to the right side of the top piece. Make sure that it’s square before gluing and screwing it from the bottom.
5. Draw a line on your leg where you want the taper. You only have to do this for one, since you’ll be setting up the jig you can make accurate repeatable tapers on all your legs.
6. Push the jig up against the fence of the miter saw. Clamp the leg to the piece that’s close to the blade.
7. Adjust the angle and the position of the jig until the blade of the miter saw hits the line you drew for the taper.
8. Clamp the top piece of the jig to the miter saw fence.
9. Make your cuts!
Tapering legs really makes a piece of furniture so elegant, dont you think?

Did I miss anything?
You can save a lot building yourself. This was my first fireplace and I was scared to death to build it but I love how it turned out.
If you have a miter saw and a circular saw you can definitely tackle this DIY.
It’s an addiction now.
I’ve had this nightstand design in my head for a while now and I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out. Originally it was supposed to have 3 drawers but it just didn’t workout. Best laid plans and all 🤷♀️

Foolproof way to build drawers #diyprojects #woodworking #drawertutorial
Foolproof way to build drawers
My absolutely favorite way to build drawers. Once I found this way I’m not intimidated by drawers anymore!
Step by Step 👇🏻
- Cut the top to size 22” x 13” x 3/4” I used some scrap I had left but plywood would be great for this project.
I used my new @smithologytools (AD) blade in 40 Tooth so I wouldn’t get any tear out.
- Glue the trim pieces to the bottom of the top piece. They are 13” x 1.5” x 3/4” (2) and 20.5” x 1.5” x 3/4” (2).
Optional: cut out a handle with your jigsaw on the shorter side pieces.
- Cut the legs to size. 11.5” x 8.75” x 3/4”.
- Grab some 3/8” threaded inserts from @homedepot and connecting bolts. I don’t know why they use mm for measurements but the connecting bolts are 1/4” x 50mm.
- On the legs drill a 3/8” hole on both sides, the hole should be 3/4” down from the top and centered.
- On the sides of the top drill a 1/4” hole all the way through on all 4 corners. The hole should be 2 1/4” in from the side and 1 1/2” down from the top.
- Finish up with your favorite stain. I used @minwaxusa simply white.
- Put the threaded inserts in the legs, then slide the connecting bolts through the top into the threaded inserts and tighten.
Love this little folding laptop desk, it makes it so I can work anywhere.
