The ANDRE DESIGN DISTRICT

This past Tuesday, August 8th, A WIDE WILD WONDERFUL WORLD debuted at Gallery 1880 in the new Andre Design District.

This industrial park, conveniently located off of the major intersection of Congress and Atlantic Avenues, and around the corner from the I-95 and Tri-Rail, is being transformed into a hot spot for eateries and galleries, much like the famed Wynwood district in Miami.

This 600,000 square-foot oasis is a mix of retail and office spaces covered in eye-catching murals by local artists, and is attracting the fashionable and the curious alike for a stroll, bite or beverage.

Our author Sharon L’Herrou illustrates how an engaging book launch is done, placing her party in the heart of a burgeoning new district that brings community and creativity together.

The last two slides are of Sharon pre-event, preparing for the evening, and her co-hosts at the event, Tracy Caruso, President of Delray Beach Executive Suites and commissioner to the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, and Natalia Khavryliak, the owner of Gallery 1880, and CEO of Sunrise 3D Suites US LLC.

Our first children’s book, A WIDE WILD WONDERFUL WOLRD has successfully launched! 🚀🚀🤩🥳😍🤗

Author Sharon L’Herrou was invited by Delray commissioner Tracy Caruso and gallery owner Natalia Khavryliak to host an exuberant book launch party this past Tuesday evening in the new Andre Design District.

It was a festive gathering of the Delray community, including many other commissioners and community leaders. Many showed up in support of the arts, the burgeoning Andre Design District, and the importance of mental health awareness.

Lite bites and wine were served, along with an ambrosial rum cake from the owner of The Drunken Hummingbird Bakery (which flew off the table). Guests mingled in clusters or gathered around Sharon, who signed both soft covers and limited edition hardcovers with a glossy dust jacket.

Sharon and her two co-hosts, Tracy and Natalia, took turns on the mike, center-stage amidst guests, to discuss Sharon’s book, the transformative power of the arts, and the importance of mental health awareness and community.

Sharon also took a moment to thank us! Her publisher and partner in crime here at Hansen Dyson :-)

Illustrator Amit Mohanta

To create the beautifully illustrated children’s book A Wide Wild Wonderful World, we have had the pleasure of working with the ineffably talented Mr. Amit Mohanta.

Mr. Mohanta is an illustrator and a visual development artist who is passionate about telling stories through different art forms and mediums.

Currently, he does art direction and illustration for various publishing houses, as well as individual writers.

Mr. Mohantas’ artistic career started in 2008, when working as an animator for many of Indias’ top animation studios, such as Technicolor (India) and Xentrix Studios. He has also had the pleasure of working for clients like Nickelodeon, Disney Junior, Rockstar Games, Eau Sports, and others.

After gaining experience in the animation industry for 7years, he decided to pursue his passion for children's book illustration, painting, and art direction. He has since created numerous children's books, including a series for the international charity Library For All, which enables literacy and learning around the globe.

The influence of various media and techniques can be seen in Amit’s work, where the best of both digital and studio art emerge.

A Wide Wild Wonderful World author, Sharon L’Herrou, is currently the CEO of a regional crisis line.

She has spent her career in the social services, helping people who are struggling with many different challenges. In her various roles, she has witnessed desperation, devastation and tragedy, but she has also witnessed firsthand people’s amazing capacity to overcome incredible obstacles.

Throughout her experience, she has seen that children are increasingly vulnerable to unrealistic expectations: social media creates an alternate world where everyone else is living a perfect life. She has come to believe that some of the most valuable things we can help our children cultivate is strength, determination, and resilience. To inform them of the power of their own agency in order to persevere.

Sharon wrote this book to offer solace and encouragement to every child facing challenges. This book is also dedicated to her granddaughter, as a love note for the future, and all that is to come.

Sharon has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in education. She and her husband reside in Florida where they raised their two sons and enjoy spending time with them and their young granddaughter more than anything.
