🚨 INCIDENT UPDATE 🚨

In the early morning hours of Monday, January 15, 2024, Weber Fire District, Ogden City Fire, South Ogden City Fire, and Weber County Sheriff’s were dispatched to a structure fire at Nordic Valley Ski Resort in Weber County.

A mountain worker noticed flames and smoke emanating from the unoccupied lodge. Upon arrival, crews were met with a working incident. Due to buried hydrants, heavy wind, smoke, and freezing temperatures, battling the fire was challenging and demanding, causing it to burn through a wall and up through the roof.

The cause is under investigation by the Weber Fire District with assistance from Ogden City Fire.

Nordic Valley Resort is closed until further notice. Follow their social media or contact them for updates and questions.

At approximately 7:30 AM, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received information about a threat that was posted to social media on Thursday (9/23) evening. The threats were made by a 13 year old female and it involved Mohave Valley Junior High School. Deputies located the female juvenile Friday (9/24) morning at 8:06 AM before she entered school property. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the threats were not credible and the juvenile did not have access to weapons. The female juvenile has been charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a class 3 felony.

As a precaution, a heavy law enforcement presence will be on site at Mohave Valley Junior High School today. Our primary concern is the safety and security of your children. Parents, please have a conversation with your children about the seriousness of incidents like this. Any time a threat is made, do not hesitate to contact local law enforcement.
