The Story Started A Year Ago
Floyd is out back cranking up the generator so we can get this show beaming to you all from the desert night. -“Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
Did I tell you 'bout what happened last night to me on Old Benson Highway?" - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
I was driving home. It was late. After midnight. No one on the road except an occasional Pronghorn and Coyote. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
Its like an antelope. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
Anyway, the glowing white lines were hypnotizing me, putting me to sleep. I was fighting the nods real hard, when I saw something that got my adrenaline flowing. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
It was white…pale white skin and jet black hair. A woman, totally naked, you know with no clothes on, just her birthday suit. She was stumbling and tripping right down the middle of the road. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
Anyway, back to my story. I swerved to miss her and slammed on the brakes. The car slid off the road and into the creosote brush. I looked into the rear view mirror. I could see she was continuing her journey zig zagging down the highway, her skin was now a reddish pink as the brake lights reflected off her bare skin. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
I jumped from the car grabbing my sport coat from the seat, you know to cover her up. But as I started to give chase, she was gone. I mean disappeared, like was never there. Nothing on the road, just me holding my sport coat. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
Yes I do and no. Shall I continue... I searched the desert for a little bit. Didn’t find anything. So I got back in my car and drove back to town, top speed. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
No, you know Ida was in the animal hospital all laid up because of the amputation. I went straight to the police and demanded to see Chief Miller. He came out of his office, I think he was sleeping. Told him the whole thing. You know what he said? - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
He said, "Big Ed, you know drinking and driving is a serious crime.” He didn’t believe a word I said. Told me to walk back to the station and sleep it off. Hell, I just drove home, white knuckled, looking for any sign of her in the pitch black desert. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
Can you believe that? Come to think of it, I saw that bare naked lady about where I found Ida a year ago. Ida was just wandering in the night too but I rescued her. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
God Damnit! Floyd is not at his post again. We missed running the Pizza Parlor commercial again. We need that account. Where is he!? - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
I found Floyd. Out back smoking again. Chief Miller was there, asking him questions. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
You’ll never guess what’s happening. Police found a body in the City Pool. A dead body. A stranger, not from Gila Bend. Here is the bizarre thing, its a woman with black hair and she’s n**e. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
I got to go down to the Cop Shop and answer some questions. I’m leaving Floyd in charge. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
I went to answer questions about the woman I saw on Old Benson Highway. She ended up in the community pool. Chief Miller wanted me to see the body and confirm it was the same woman I saw out in the desert. Well when we got to the Coroner’s Office she wasn’t there. I mean the body was gone. I then called into question Chief Miller’s ability to do his job. He then locked me up. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
If you are interested in helping us get Ida back on four feet or get “Big” Ed out of jail please donate. - Floyd, AMTR-TV Engineer
Thanks for the calls and letters. I’m glad to be out. Staying overnight in the big house is something you don’t ever want to do. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
Its been a rough couple weeks. Ida caused an accident out on Old Benson Highway and lost one of her legs. A dead person is found in the city pool and Chief Miller locked me up. - “Big” Ed, Station Manger, AMTR-TV
