My first Happy Planner for 2024 has finally arrived!!!

This is a large planner to help organize my personal and home life. I accidentally ordered the wrong format and was a little upset about that. However, I love the abstract design and really didn't want to return it just because the artwork was so cool!!! It turns out that the layout format of this planner works out much better than the vertical format that I'm so accustomed to!!!

And I love it!!!

There's also a BONUS...
I was surprised that the talented artist named Grace is a lovely young lady with another very special ability.

My goals for 2024 are taking me way out of my comfort but I feel so inspired by her story.

Grace's story embodies much of my message to the world.

I feel that it is confirmation from God that when you have a God given assignment, He will give you the grace to accomplish it.

I have a constant reminder of that every time I open up my planner.

Thank you Lord for Grace!!!💝🌺💝

The reason why you should cultivate and develop your talents...

It is a form of self-care that keeps giving. Focus on filling your cup in your secret place by developing in your gifts. Spending time developing your gifts is amazingly therapeutic, good for your mental/ emotional well-being and a major form of self love.

It fills your cup to the point you will have no reason to compare or desire what someone else has.

You will literally fall in love with being you!!!❤️

So, before you begin serving others with your talents, make sure you are only serving from your overflow to avoid burnout and exhaustion. Serve or minister to YOUR needs FIRST.

I once heard Iyanla Vanzant say... Fill your cup until it overflows and only give from that overflow. Whatever is in your cup is for you and you only. Never let your cup go empty!!!

Your talents are God's gift to YOU!!!

God has given you everything you need within but it's up to you to grow it, nurture it and to protect the gifts He's given to YOU.

It is a journey that never ends!!!

There is no final destination... Only a transition from my labor when I shut my eyes on this side of heaven. God willing (and the creek don't rise🤪)... I still have quite a bit of life work still ahead of me on this earth.

So... In the meantime, I keep moving forward...working on "ME" (mind, body, and spirit) and enjoying every bit of it...every step of the way!!!❤️

This is how I've been feeling since coming back from Hawaii.

Like...I'm happy I'm back home with my husband and children... but maaaannnnnnnnn-aaaah!!!!

I thought to myself, "Today would be a perfect day for a bike ride." The temperature is in the late 60's (not too hot not too cold).
Perfect.

I missed my bike so much!!!😊 I hadn't ridden it since the spring. The summer was just too hot to ride my bike. It was so hot that I couldn't tell if it was the heat or my hot flashes.

Today, I was sooooo excited to finally be reunited with my bike!!!🤗🥰

Y'all...I could only make one lap around our complex. My bike is a one speed but I don't remember having so many uphill slopes. Even the smallest slopes were a challenge. I didn't recall it being this difficult in the spring.

Then I remembered that I would always go the opposite way.... Mostly downhill. Just to think that I thought I was doing something at the time.😏

So...I started thinking back to when I was a kid. It was NEVER this difficult. I also don't remember relying so much on my hearing. Is that wisdom, my age, both or just plain paranoia?...I dunno but cars can pull up on you out of nowhere.😅

I think I'd do better on a bike trail but who's going to put my bike in the car and take it out?.🤔

Look, I'm done for the day, we're going to have to try this again tomorrow in the same direction because apparently I need the workout. 😅

One day at a time, Cricket... One day at a time. I'm going for a walk now... Something safe and easy.👍🏾🤗

🌟Black-eyed pea salad w/ Collard green salad🌟

My husband was like, "So you're eating TWO salads???"🙄🤦🏾‍♀️
I'm like, "Yep!!!" (with a little neck roll)😅

I never thought I could ever eat raw collard greens but these greens are delicious esp after you let them marinade in the dressing and add pickled onions.😋😍

I love me some black-eyed peas and collard greens.💕🥰🤗 Now, I have to learn how to make the vegan cornbread because I need to get my practice in before the holidays.🤗😁

Gotta keep the New Year's Day tradition but in a healthier way.😜❤️

I've been juicing and couldn't wait to transition with fresh fruit and veggies. My husband bought me a few vegan cookbooks for Christmas and I couldn't wait to use them.

A few weeks ago, I found this salad in ✨Cooking From The Spirit✨ by Tabitha Brown .

Yaaaallllllll....I am obsessed with this sal-lee-ed!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👏🏾☺️🥰😍

I thought I could just make it every week but nope. I ended up having to wait 2... TWO whole weeks afterwards to make this salad again!!!!🥺

Fresh okra is very hard to find in Columbus, Ohio but I finally found it at Whole Foods in Upper Arlington. Apparently, it's only in season in the northern states between May and October.
Whole Foods had it a few weeks ago but when I went to reorder, they were out. Every few days I kept checking ....trying to put it on order but my order kept being rejected. Then finally my order went through Saturday.🙏🏾🙌🏾👏🏾❤️

I am so happy! My taste buds are happy! And my tummy is happy and full!!!☺️🤗😋
Yep FULL...This salad sits heavy!!! So, y'all need to get into it and get you summa this.😅

I've been playing around with the Pacifica Animal Magic Magical Eyeshadow palette now for the last few weeks and so far so good!!!🤗🥰❤️

I thought I would have to compromise on the pigment but noooooo!!!

The pigmentation is everything even on this bronze skin girl!!!🔥🔥🔥

No more eye irritation!!!👁️🥺

I am so excited about my non toxic makeup journey and so so so glad I made the switch!!!💞🙌🏾👏🏾💃🏾

I think I'm finally ready to do the other eye now.😅

In case you're wondering what's going on here, I've decided to start transitioning all of my makeup that contains talc to talc free.

And yes... I'm still with Mary Kay and I'm totally in love with most of our products.🥰

However, as many of you know, I lost two uncles back to back to cancer last year. Their oldest brother passed away less than a year prior to their passing. It was discovered that he had cancer as well.
All three would be celebrating their birthday this month.

We also have a history of breast cancer in our family.

Talc naturally has asbestos which has been proven to cause cancer. Although many makeup brands claim to use asbestos free talc in their products and they are FDA approved, it has been discovered using advanced testing that many of those brands contain traces of asbestos in their products.

Knowing this along with my family history, I have decided to be more mindful when buying beauty products. When you know better, you do better.

This is not to put anyone down who chooses to continue using talc products. This is my personal choice as losing my uncles really hit hard and have caused me to pay very close attention to my health.

There are people who are more susceptible especially if you already have a history of a chronic illness in your family. Also, it can take years... even decades for cancer to show up after the initial contact.

I know I can't prevent everything from happening. I also understand that everything... The soil... Water... The air... The food are all contaminated but I have chosen to lead a healthy lifestyle the best I can. I admit that I don't know everything and I'm not perfect. However I'm not going to knowingly and continually put myself at risk if I can do something about it.

Be on guard and be very prayerful.🙏🏾
Do what you can to lead a healthy life and give what you can't do anything about over to God.❤️
