I love this country. So I often travel it. Small town to small town. Sometimes you do a lot of driving. Sometimes you find gold. On the night of August 7th, 2017 I was returning to Albany from my day trip to Amsterdam, NY. I passed the fun looking, old school Jumping Jack's Drive-in. The stars were aligned that night because they were having a hometown water ski show. Yeah, I said water skiing.

I best describe the scene as that episode of Happy Days, when Fonzi jumps the shark.The crowd started filing in around 6pm for the 7pm show. So I killed time by waiting in that sepentine line to get some typical treats that were made better by the nostalgic environment I was in.

By 7p, he crowd filled what was once an empty grass riverbank and parking lot. The show was not just people waterskiing, but there were costumes and a skit with the plot about Fred Flintstone trying to get out work to go bowling. Fun for all ages.

I highly recommend this to you. If you are in the area, try to schedule around the event and come support an amateur water ski team doing what they like to the appreciation of the crowd.
