As of February 2025, policemapping.com reports that 107 people have been killed by police in the United States this year. This alarming statistic highlights the urgent need for systemic change in law enforcement practices.

In the fight for justice against police brutality and systemic oppression, it’s crucial to recognize that we are not just addressing isolated incidents, despite what the media may portray.

As Angela Davis states, “We must confront the reality that police violence is not a singular event but a systemic issue that needs to be addressed.”

While individuals may pursue their own paths, we are all facing the same entrenched institutions of power. These institutions, despite their internal disagreements, are skilled at uniting their forces to counter our collective efforts.

Our diverse approaches and perspectives should not be a barrier; rather, they can strengthen our cause. It’s crucial for us to recognize the need for solidarity among various movements and communities. By sharing our experiences and strategies, we can build a more cohesive front to challenge the systemic injustices that persist.

As of now, the case is still open, in federal civil court in Cleveland under federal judge Ruiz. They have been waiting years 18 months to hear his decision on sending Mohammads case to trial or dismissing it completely.
In this episode, Kimberly walks us through the ongoing legal battles, the frustrations of fighting for justice in the face of systemic challenges, and the hope that one day, there will be accountability for the officers involved in Mohammad’s death. This episode also delves into the emotional weight of losing a loved one to police violence and the relentless pursuit of justice in a system that often seems stacked against families like hers.
