Suspected shooter arrested. MERGE Unit officers arrested Fernando Macias for attempted homicide after Assaults Unit detectives identified him in the Jan 30 shooting on N 4th St. The victim suffered life threatening injuries but was later stabilized.

Our officers responded to a possible robbery call with a suspect brandishing a firearm; as they attempted to detain the suspect, he cut one of them with a boxcutter and fled in a car with a woman, causing a pursuit. The suspects caused a multi-car collision and are in custody.
