About 25 years ago I was hired by a powerful Philipino artist named Mike Hanopol - you probably have never heard of him, but Mike is easily as well known as the Beatles in the Philippines, and is considered to be "The Father of Pinoy Rock". (Pinoy means Philippino.)

Mike came to this country in the wake of political upheaval - all his recorded masters were confiscated by the Marcos government (he was signed to a big record label) and he ended up in Miami, working as a butler for Julio Iglesias, of all people.

Mike somehow found me, and we worked together here in Miami for some years producing music and doing gigs. We recorded his comeback album here in my house with myself as producer.

Mike was eventually able to return to the Philippines where he continued his massive popularity, and I''m proud to have produced the album that helped him achieve that.

I dig the sh&t out of this track -- it sounds dirty and explosive because it was meant to express the horror of the volcano erupting and spewing ash over miles and miles of populated territories in the Phillipines. It was an awful thing. Unfortunately you won''t understand the words because it''s in Tagalog - however you can recognize certain phrases, I''m sure.

And it has a smokin'' bass part, courtest of yours truly! Sendin this out to Peeto Peter Cross and everyone in Hawaii - watch yourselves and take care!
