Oh man, I'd LOVE to hear Morton Feldman's String Quartet II in this space! I saw the Flux Quartet perform all 6+ hours of it once, back in 2002, and the piece's glacial pace is ideally suited to such a space. I mean, who wouldn't want to hear the world's longest string quartet performed in the room with the world's longest RT60?!?
FYI, here's some of the crazy numbers on that piece: ≈64bpm; 124page score, with barlines making each page range from 30sec-7min in duration; some single notes are held for that long; recordings of it require 5CDs; only a handful of ensembles have ever dared to try to play it, and, to my knowledge, only Flux performs it regularly.
Deep inside a complex of secret tunnels in the Highlands stirs a sound which will reverberate through the ages. The world record for the longest echo ever discovered has been shattered by a hidden network of oil storage tanks in Rossshire.

Just re-stumbled across this little Dave Rat gem from awhile back. It's definitely worth a read for all of you mix engineers out there, not just the live folks, but you studio heads too, as these tricks work wonderfully there as well, and can even inspire unique surround/multi-channel ideas. Give em a try!
The goal is to set up a mix that offers a wide stereo image, minimizes comb-filtering, and offers a quality mix regardless of listening position.

Just mixed Tauk in this 18,000-cap beast. Clair i5 hangs (10/side) in the tent, with McCauley lawn fills, and 12MAs on deck. The slap and diffusion coming back from the tent was nasty, as confirmed in chats with the other bands' FOH engineers, but reports from the crowd were unanimously strong, so all's well that ends well ;-)
This is a great site, and the venue crew were phenomenal, so we really hope to be back next year to make it 3-for-3. Thanks to everyone at The Peach Music Festival for all their efforts!

Danley featured at this year's SMAG Sundance Openair-Festival. 7000 people were covered with just 8 loudspeakers! ( 2 SH-96HOs, 2 SH-46s, and 4 TH-812s)
Oh, Danley Sound Labs, Inc., just when I think I can't love you any more, you go and do something like this! Only they could load 148 drivers into only TWO speaker cabinets, producing concert-level, full-range coverage over 600' away...
