Not to confuse you or anything, but we just HAD to release this week’s episode early.

Is aging gracefully gracelessly ageist? Today’s episode is a little late, but we’re talking about stuff that got us fired up!
The term aging gracefully- do you use it?
We think there are better ways to say it.
Thoughts?
How will you make summer last longer?
We’re talking about our summer to do lists ( fun things only ) and ways to make summer last longer.
We’d love to hear what’s on your summer list

I have dreams for this space, but like many of my projects, the execution takes a little longer than I planned and the vision goes through a couple of iterations.
So, while I thought this would be a dining area with hanging lights and candelabras , it might turn into an outdoor lounge instead.
All of it will have to wait until my thumb (which I sliced open a week ago) heals.
Other things that will need to wait? This week’s episode of Mixing Up Midlife.
You understand, right?!

A year ago, we interviewed Sue-Anne @sister_stay- a home stay community for women over 50. It was such a great episode that we released it again. A lot has changed in a year, but the desire to travel and meet new folks hasn’t and it made me think that If we wait, it might be too late.
Where will you be heading? Make sure to check out @sister_stay!

Kim Hamer, one of my oldest & dearest friends, became a widow in her 40s. When people said “if you need anything, let me know”, she was grateful, but realized how unhelpful that phrase really was.
Her book, 100 Acts of Love The Girlfriend’s Guide To Loving Your Friend Through Cancer or Loss was written to help honor & support with specificity.
While this episode is more serious for us, this is an episode so worth listening to with so many helpful ways to REALLY be there.
Make sure to follow Kim, visit her website and BUY HER BOOK.
Kim, we love you!

When we started our podcast in 2019, we wanted a way to give voice to women over 50…their courage, their curiosity, their sense of fun and adventure.
Melissa & I have been friends for 40 years and while we may touch on the past, we still look toward what the future holds. And we just can seem to get enough!

Have you watched @hulu Fleishman Is In Trouble?
We discuss the show on this week’s podcast from the perspective of women in our late 50s.
It was an uncomfortable watch, but was beautifully done.
What are your thoughts on the show?
It’s never too late! Those are such empowering words.
We talk with online strength coach, @susanniebergallfitness on today’s podcast about strength training as we age and why it’s so important to stay strong.
Current situation:
Towing a U-Haul filled with furniture to fill our daughter’s new house.
I’m truly in awe of her. She had a dream and made it happen.
There won’t be a new episode out this week, but I’d love it if you’d take a moment to listen or re-listen to a past episode.
Have a dreamy weekend!

Ready to travel, but nervous to go it alone?
We had the great pleasure of speaking to Sue-Anne Mayne, founder of @sister_stay, a women’s home stay community, on today’s podcast.
She walked us through the concept, who can participate and left us feeling excited for a safe & friendly way to travel on our own.
Listen in & most importantly share this incredible organization with a women over 50 who’s ready to travel!
Sound on!
Because we all need a moment of peace.
Is Hiking/ backpacking/ LASH (Long A$$ Section Hikes) one of your goals for 2022?
