"The Isabella Santos Foundation (ISF) Shuck Cancer event, held at the Savannah Oyster Company on May 22, 2024, was a fun and transformative evening of community support. With over 150 attendees, the event raised more than $44,000, showcasing the generosity of the Lake Norman community in the fight against pediatric cancer. The event was co-chaired by a fantastic group of individuals, including Lisa and James Combs, Tana and Mike Greene, Jason Tuton, and Ginger and John Wagoner."

"So much more than walls and windows, Tom and Amanda Planishek of Planishek Properties know home is a place like no other. Both agree houses are a steadfast background in an ever-changing environment – and, to quote Amanda, “a place that provides family comfort and safety, a place that sees the good, the bad and everything in-between.”

Their business provides high quality, custom-built homes to inspire family adventure – with personal inspiration that often springs forward from their own family life and what it means to be 'home.' "

Welcome to !

"When Sweetbay Home & Gift owner Courtney Brownewell stayed home to raise her boys, she freelanced as a graphic designer and stretched her design skills with the opportunity to have a booth rental at Lake Norman Antique Mall and Rumor Mill Market. That allowed her to nurture a passion for both design and one-of-a-kind style.

Today, Courtney is known to scout estate sales and second-hand shops to discover charming pieces you won’t find just anywhere, and her new business venture, Sweetbay Home & Gift, is a fun, eclectic mix of old and new décor. “I truly believe you don’t have to have a huge budget to have a house you love!” she shares, excited to bring items she loves to new customers, and celebrating the life-long dream of opening her own boutique."

Courtney also recently announced a furniture painting class that will be held on Saturday, July 20th! Head on over to Sweetbay Home & Gift's profile to find out more about the class.

"Wishing everyone an amazing July!

There’s so much to celebrate this month! First and foremost, it’s a milestone birthday for me. I’m turning 65, and as an entrepreneur for more than half of my life (and my husband too), this is a huge moment for us—we finally have Medicare! Now time can surely slow down a bit. July is extra special because our kids visit often, and we treasure these moments so much!

I am a prime example of it never being too late to follow your dreams! Starting LKN Magazine at just over 63 has exceeded all my expectations, and I couldn’t be happier with where we are after two short years."

From our Publisher, Keela:

I had the joy of being introduced to Jordan by my good friend and next-door neighbor, Kasey Jamison. Over the past couple of years, Jordan often shuttled her to and from the airport during her many business trips. From our first meeting, Jordan and I had an immediate connection, and he soon became an advertising partner with our publication.

Tragically, last Wednesday, June 12th, Jordan passed away during a trip back from the Charlotte airport. When someone texted me saying he was late for a pickup, I felt a deep worry because Jordan had never been late before. It was a long and anxious day, filled with texts to him, hoping he was okay, even though my heart feared the worst. The next day, we received the devastating news. Our hearts are broken.

If you have it in your heart to make a donation to his GoFundMe, please know that no amount is too small. Your generosity and support will mean the world to his family and help honor Jordan's memory. These funds will help so much with the financial burdens that come with such a sudden and tragic loss. We would be forever grateful for your support.
Thank you so much.

Dear friends and community, It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic… Brooke Eagle needs your support for Help Ease the Burden for Jordan's Family

Meet Emily Blue Cowan of Rooted Social Media! Emily created .socialmedia because she saw that so many small business owners struggled with keeping up with their social media, so she decided to help them by taking it off of their plates! For those who are skeptical or hesitant about social media, Emily would tell you that younger generations, specifically Gen Z (who are in and entering adulthood), use social media to search for information more than they use Google. So you as a business owner want to make sure you're where your customers are!
