In this journey of helping others write books, I find that in my teaching and mentoring, that I am also the student.
Each writer has taught me something about life and more about myself, but also new things that I can now pass on to others.
The verse quoted above is one shared with me by . In her book, “Kingdom Authority”, she speaks of the personal revelation that led her to write the book. And that God’s authority gives each of us the passage to share our stories as well.
“You have a story, a testimony, that will allow others to overcome just as he allowed you to overcome. There is a generation waiting for your revelation. May the lord bring to completion the seed that he has planted deep within your heart, and may that seed grow and birth a book that can positively influence the lives of many. “If words could turn back time, we would rewrite our story according to the way we wanted things to turn out in our lives. but here is where the beauty lies: those ashes help rebuild the beauty out of a story of pain, loss, and tragedy. Many poets use their words to express love, pain, and joy.
I’ve written things over the years on paper but never put them in a book. I’ve always encouraged others with uplifting words. so what led me to write a devotional was a desire to take those words and back them up with scripture. That was a win-win!
Most of my writing was never published. but through trials and the loss of my son, I started writing again because God used it to heal my heart, to bring beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair.”

Kim is one of the wonderful authors who’ve published a book with DPH. Her book, a 60-day devotional, is called “Joy in the Morning”. It offers day by day, life-giving words, wisdom, and promises for your day ahead. It was written to encourage others and give hope in a hurting world.

Following the loss of Kim’s son in 2018, she felt called to see a long standing dream in Africa to fruition. She built an orphanage in Uganda in her son’s honor. All of the proceeds from the sales of “Joy in the Morning” are used to fund the orphanage.

We officially launched Dove Publishing house on my fiftieth birthday in January 2022.
Remember, you are never too old or too young to dream a new dream with god!
I can’t tell you how many times along this journey I have questioned if that dream was really from God, but here I am, doing it!
It is a privilege to have the great honor of bringing books already on Heaven’s bookshelves into the earth to spread the kingdom through His chosen vessels.

Whenever I talk to people who are interested in writing a book, I often hear these 3 excuses for procrastination: 1) There are so many books out there on my topic. TRUTH: No one else in this world has your exact fingerprint and no one can tell a story quite like you. 2) I’m so busy! There isn’t enough time. TRUTH: Devoting a 2 hour window per week can equate to more than 1000 words per session! This equates to at least 52,000 words per year, which is considered an acceptable book length. 3) What if no one buys or even reads my book? TRUTH: The words you write will be there long after you’re gone —a lasting legacy for generations to come. What I wouldn’t give to have a book written by my grandmother!🤍 Isn’t the investment worth knowing that your story will live on and impact those who read it in the future?
