Gordon Lightfoot. This was good road trip for me in the 70s!
Gordon Lightfoot:
Gordon Meredith Lightfoot Jr. CC OOnt (November 17, 1938 – May 1, 2023) was a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist who achieved international success in folk, folk-rock, and country music. He is credited with helping to define the folk-pop sound of the 1960s and 1970s.
Sundown:
"Sundown" reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and easy listening charts[2] and No. 13 on the Hot Country singles chart, as well as No. 1 in Canada on RPM's national singles chart.
It was Lightfoot's only single to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100.

This was one of my chilling songs back in the day.
Looking Glass:
An American pop rock band formed in New Jersey that were active during the early 1970s.
Brandy:
The single reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Cash Box Top 100 charts, remaining in the top position for one week. It reached No. 2 on the former chart for four weeks, behind Gilbert O'Sullivan's "Alone Again (Naturally)", before reaching No. 1, only to be dethroned by "Alone Again (Naturally)" the week after.
Billboard ranked it as the No. 12 song for 1972.

Gone too soon! RIP Toby Keith. 😢
"He was known for his overt patriotism on post 9/11 songs like “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” and boisterous barroom tunes like “I Love This Bar” and “Red Solo Cup.” He had a powerful booming voice, a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor and range that carried love songs as well as drinking songs." - (AP)
