Battle Ground Harvest Days is just around the corner. The Harvest Nights Cruise starts at 6pm on July 14th, and the parade kicks off the next day, July 15th, at 10am. There are several other great events, including the Vendor Fair.

Great things happening at our company home office!
Over 50 students from Summit Educational Association came to visit BVM's Home Office yesterday! They had speakers, including CEO Kevin O'Brien, an office tour, lunch, and a Q&A panel with BVM Directors. Summit is a non-profit serving economically disadvantaged Milwaukee students to support academic excellence and character development.

We are working on putting together a directory where people living in North County can find a variety of resources that are available to residents in our local communities.

I had an enjoyable meeting yesterday with Cindy Lebeau and Markus McDaniel. Cindy is the publisher of both the Greet Ridgefield and Greet Felida community magazines. Markus is publisher of the Greet Battle Ground & Hockinson magazine.
They are both very dedicated to their respective communities and strive to provide fun and informative information that is useful to both the residents and businesses in those communities.

I want to give them both a nice shout out for the work they do!

I just had a great meeting today with Courtney Tomlinson, Assistant Head of School at the Gardner School of Arts and Sciences. I love their vision and approach to child education. Here's an excerpt from their website:

I had the pleasure of meeting last week with Stacy Robinson. Stacy is involved in several local community activities and events and we hope to be able to collaborate with her in the future, as she recommends sources of information and content for the publications, that will be both interesting and valuable to our communities.

Stacy is currently working as a real estate agent at the Berkshire Hathaway Clark County NW office.

I was able to make a visit to nearby La Center on Monday and had the pleasure of visiting with Maria Swinger-Inskeep, Director of Administrative Services for the City of La Center. The small town atmosphere and the beautiful countryside surrounding the town, is yet another gem in SW Washington. Thank you Maria for the hospitality and discussion. I'll be including additional info about area events in future newsletters.

A special article in the Ridgefield Reflector from 1946, announcing the opening of the Liberty Theatre. According to the article, the theatre was built at a cost of approximately $35,000. Man, how times have changed!

CLARK COUNTY TEEN TALK
A few days ago, I got a message here on our page, from Kris Henriksen, offering a "media kit" with information about the Clark County Teen Talk organization. I received the package yesterday and it was full of awesome information. There are booklets with important information for young people, phone numbers for the peer-to-peer support line, a Teen Talk Journal for teens to use, and much, much more. ( Thanks for the pens and the bag of candy!)
