Do you want to dedicate an episode of the Stop the Stigma Podcast to a loved one that lost their life due to an overdose or poisoning?

There are two ways to do so.

1) Read/Say it yourself: Go to the Stop the Stigma website, click on the little microphone (bottom-right) and record a voice message. Please phrase it as "This episode is dedicated to (Their name), forever (their age)."

2) Let me say it: Go to the Stop the Stigma website, click on "Dedicate an Episode," (on the menu), and fill out the form.

I will get to all as soon as possible and might put multiple dedications on episodes, depending on the number of entries.

My Name is Fentanyl

I am the Devils Drug you see
Send From Mexico and Over Seas
I creep quietly in Your Child's life
Disguised in a pill is the key
I come in rainbow colors too so pretty
To make you believe
I am sweet as candy
but you will find out soon
as you drift off to sleep
That I was not harmless
Your life I did take
My maker in china and Mexico
does not care
Money in there pockets
is the goal here
But Not only did I take you
I will make your familys suffer too

They pressed me in a pill
So you could not see
Over the border I came
with ease
Your leader Joe Biden opened up for me
I made my way to all 50 States
I found My way to Schools
and even on the Internet
Snapchat is what they call it
Got a Ghost with yellow all around it
You will find me on the streets too
Deliverd by a Drug Dealer near you
You can even pick me up on the street
rolled in a dollar bill I will Wait

I do not discriminate
All ages I take
So let this be a warning to you out there
If you like to live
Dont take anything
that was not from a pharmacist
Remember I am the Devil’s Drug
My way to you was easy
It's your family now that is fighting so hard
To get rid of me
YES I AM A WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION
And I am Dangerous
My name is fentanyl
And I come from China and Mexico

Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for Americans ages 18 to 45.

That fact right there is one of the reasons there was a march in D.C. yesterday (9/17/22). Families of those who have lost loved ones from Fentanyl poisoning a rallying together to demand a change. They want fentanyl considered a weapon of mass destruction (it helped kill over 71k Americans in 2021) and designate drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations

Thank you to the Washington Post for covering this and thanks to Lost Voices of fentanyl for doing what you're doing.

Please check out the article below:

About 400 people joined the Lost Voices of Fentanyl rally, marching to the White House and demanding greater public understanding of the synthetic opioid.

Do you live in an area where you don't have access to a harm reduction site that can provide you with Narcan?

Go to your local pharmacy (Walmart included) and tell them you need some. If you have Medicaid, it should cover it. If not, your insurance should, or at least some of it. You DON'T need a prescription.

How much you can get in a month with Medicaid depends on your location. Check out the following link to determine how much you can get. Scroll down to "3: Results" and it will explain it.

P.S. Appertanly you can also get a generic version at CVS, it's $75 for the two doses. That's without insurance/MC. I have not confirmed this myself a local harm reduction site posted about it. They are attempting to find out of other pharmacies offer it
