I once had a customer come to me when her wedding photos and VHS tapes were damaged in a Tornado. She was so happy when I was able to restore her most precious treasures that she sent me flowers as thanks.. Another customer came to me with 4 cans of old 8mm reels that had burned in a fire. The metal case protected them from getting completely burned, but heat from the fire made the film melt flake of peeled apart. The damage was great that the film was not recoverable. My only solution was to photo shoot the flakes of the film, and was able to create a video from the photos and was able to restore the memories and only images she had of her great great grandparents and family. Don't wait until it's too late. Film deteriorates naturally, and storage in an attic or hot garage can cause the same damage as a fire.
