OMG, we are so close to getting over 1k followers. Thank you all so much for following our journey. We started our travel journey blog, April 2022. We are grateful that so many of you are interested in following us. We hear many that they love it and are living vicarious through us. Again thank you! Stay tuned and please invite your friends and family as we plan on continuing to keep y’all entertained. LOL

P.S. Some know our story and some don’t. Here’s the short version. Bob and I had our fist date on January 7th just two years ago. Never did we ever think it would work out, why because, both over 60 and really didn’t think we needed anyone else in our lives after both being caregivers to our spouses . Bob took care of his wife while she battled cancer and passed away in June of 2020 and I took care of my husband for 9 ½ years after having a massive stroke who passed away in July 2020. We are pretty sure they got together and push us into each from above.

Upcoming video of us sharing the rest of the story.

As 2023 comes to a close, we wish each and every one of you a Happy New Year, and hope 2024 brings you safe travels and great memories.

2023 was a pretty eventful year. Our travels took us coast to coast again. We got to visit many friends and family along the way. We dodged a tornado or two, and went through a tropical storm. In May, we bought a new Alliance RV Paradigm in Florida. Then Glenn developed some pretty severe shoulder pain, and arthritis in his hands, so that has slowed us down a bit.

We visited friends in Rockport, Texas and decided we liked the area so much that we would stay the winter. After changing RV resorts, we found ourselves in Aransas Pass, Tx, where we fell in love with a nice lot in Southern Oaks Luxury RV Resort. Hopefully we close on that next week. The Casita will be great for entertaining, or just watching the sun go down over the pond.

Thank you all for following along on our adventures. We appreciate you.

Big things happening for us! We have not said anything until it looked like all the pieces were in place, and now it seems we are close.

Next week we should be closing on our purchase of a waterfront lot with a Casita, and full RV hook-ups in a resort community in Aransa Pass, Texas!

This will not be the end of our travels, but will be a nice home base for us.

There was a nice golf cart Christmas parade today in the resort.
We did not take part this time, but maybe next year. Need to get some decorations and lights.

Cavalry and Liberty both needed their nails clipped.
We spotted Bark n Bubblez at a neighbors. Bingo! Texted them, and shortly a very nice lady came over. She did Cavalry first, and no issues. Then was time for Liberty.

Liberty is afraid of everything, and a bit dramatic, so I went with her to hold her. She howled, whined, and tried to pull her paws back. The groomer did a great job, and was very patient, despite the dramatics.

She did a great job on both of our dogs! It was so convenient having it done at our location.

If you are in the Aransas Pass/Rockport Texas area, please consider using them. Veteran/family owned too!

We are thankful for you all, and grateful that you follow along on our adventures.

About The Traveling Bakers

We are fairly new to the RV life, but not new to travel. Unfortunately, Glenn has suffered from back & nerve problems for many years, and it has gotten worse. During treatment, he developed a couple auto-immune diseases that severely impacted his life. Travel became nearly impossible due to related issues. And when he had to travel, he would have to stop eating a day ahead of the travel date. As you can imagine, that had a huge impact on his life.

For the last few years Glenn has mostly stayed at home, or close to it. That is no way to live, and no relief in sight. Glenn and Sheila started talking about ways to be able to get out and travel. After some discussion, the hunt for an RV was on. This would allow us to be together, get out of the house, and travel. Travel on our time line, at our leisure, and with all of the facilities Glenn needs coupled right to our truck.

After visiting many RV dealerships, we found a Forest River Cherokee that met our needs. Our first trip out, we also found that our Dodge MegaCab truck struggled with the weight. A used Chevy Silverado with the 6.6 Duramax diesel soon replaced the Dodge. The older Chevy pulls the trailer like a dream.

So far, we have stayed at a few local RV parks just to work out the kinks, figure out what we need, etc... what works, what doesn't. We then set off to the California Coast. A great two week trip, at our pace, on our schedule. It was lovely.
