🌍✨ Celebrating Immigrant Heritage Month! 🗽📚

June has arrived, and with it comes the observance of National Immigrant Heritage Month. It's a special time for me to reflect on my own journey and the impactful experiences that have shaped my identity, allowing me to embrace the richness of my immigrant heritage.

This month holds deep meaning as it represents our collective immigrant story. My dad paved the way by coming to the United States in the late '70s for his education, and later, in June of the mid-'90s, my mom, little brother, and I joined him on our own adventure to pursue a brighter future.

As part of my summer goals, I'm excited to dedicate more time to leisure reading. Inspired by Immigrant Heritage Month and my Nigerian-American background, I've chosen to immerse myself in books that depict the experiences, challenges, and triumphs of recent immigrants to this country.

On my podcast, Conversations from the Diaspora, I will continue to showcase the inspiring stories of individuals from immigrant families. These remarkable individuals have made America their home, overcoming challenges, embracing opportunities, and crafting their own American dreams.

By amplifying their voices, I hope to illuminate the richness of diversity, unwavering determination, and unique perspectives that immigrants bring to our great nation.

How do you celebrate your cultural background/heritage?
