You guys, these books are INCREDIBLE!!!! School of Monsters by Sally Rippin. Take a look at the inside pages - that's how the entire book is written - full color pics, the last word being bigger and colored. New readers work on those last words first (nice that they're bigger and colored) and then later they do the whole sentence. Also there are tips to help parents help their young reader with reading confidence as they learn.
