🚨🚨🚨NEW PODCAST EPISODE🚨🚨🚨

We are back! The Y.M.O. Podcast returns with our best episode yet. Today's title, "What Have We Lost? (Part 1)". Discussing the residual effects of the pandemic on education, from the perspective of the teacher and student.

So much time has passed and yet we are not even touching the tip of the iceberg on how severly students have lost ground academically and socially. In this episode my guest, Leslie Jay and I, discuss these areas of loss as well as ways to fix the issues we see in schools. So follow the link, and subscribe to the podcast. Available anywhere you listen to podcasts.

Qoute from the episode :

"In my mind I always say, KIDS HAVEN'T LIVED LONG ENOUGH TO BE THE VILLAIN!.....They have not lived long enough to be solely responsible for the way they are acting!" - Leslie Jay

Special thanks to Kiheem Bynum for lending his quote/perspective for this episode.

Podcast Theme: QyBai Muniz - "Good Vibes"

🚨🚨🚨PODCAST UPDATES🚨🚨🚨

In the next few days I will be finalizing a deal to secure a space to record the podcast. For those that will be a part of the roster of guests, the location and scheduling of recordings will be messaged to your inbox. With the last bit of equipment coming in the next few days, we will look to begin recording in the next week or so. Thank you to all who have had a hand in helping to move this venture forward. Whether that be in conversation, brainstorming, encouragement, or being a helpful person and an extra set of eyes that I show things to before making them public. Thanks to you all.

ANNOUNCEMENT #1:

I am honored to announce that the theme song for the podcast will be “Good Vibes” by QyBizzel (QyBai Muniz; “Quah-bi-zle”). He is a talented young artist with a bright future and has allowed his song to be the theme of The Y.M.O. Podcast. Check the link below.

ANNOUNCEMENT #2:

In the same vein of announcing our theme song, I’d like to also share the topic for the first OFFICIAL episode, as there will be a pilot episode debuting prior to the release of the inaugural episode. The topic:

“The Power of Letting Go” w/ A Special Guest (announcement of guest at a later date)

DISCUSSION FOCUS:

1. What do we hold on to?
2. Why?
3. Fear of failure.
4. Strength from the release.

(Read below for a peak into ONE of the premises behind this shows MAIN topic. Thanks to Chris Morant McNeil)

SELF REFLECTION (Day 1) - Take time out of your day, everyday, for self reflection. One of the quickest ways to grow is to be mature enough to self-examine yourself. Being your toughest critic while your own biggest supporter. Helps give clarity and a chance to see you and not others first. Today’s Lessons:

1. Most will not invest in you what you invest in them. So invest in people that want to “deposit” in your life so much that it makes them “taking out” a joy, not leaving you feeling “overdrawn”.
2. Most people operate in some form of toxicity in relationships. It’s important to recognize it and address it properly.
3. I am not always right, but that doesn’t make me wrong. It’s all relative.
4. I HATE being misunderstood. But it comes with the territory. You’re not supposed to be loved by everyone. Or understood. What I have come to understand is that fairness and balance is not something you should expect from everyone. Some people just do not care or operate by the same morals as you. And that’s okay. Love them anyway but give them their space.
5. Walk away! From relationships, from toxic people, from arguments, from bad emotions. From anything that would be your downfall. My “walk away” is anger. At times my temper can get the best of me. No matter how many techniques and coping skills I try to use. If someone is mistreating you or abusing your relationship, “Walk Away”. Today I had to cut some people out my life emotionally and figuratively. It happens. But it has to be done for your own peace of mind.

So do what you need to do to be happy. Stay focused on your visions and passions. Go after them. Don’t let others and people who have made it clear they’re not for you, stop you from going after your future. Tomorrow is not promised as I was reminded this past week. Either reconcile or move on. Today I chose to move on. Do some self reflection. What did you discover? Post below.
