The plume of smoke could be seen all over Magnolia this Sunday morning so of course I had to pop up the drone to see if I could catch a few pictures. Turns out the fire was over at Anthony Forest products in the drying kiln. Don’t know what time it started, but we spotted it at 9:30 on our way to church this morning. Drove by this afternoon to see what was left. The structure was a complete loss, but fortunately, the fire did not spread to any nearby structures or the many stacks of wood over there off of N. Vine St.
Looks like a big fire over on North Vine in Magnolia this morning near the flooring mill.
A few drone photos from Sparks in the Park.

A moving experience
I’ve waited all week to post this update! The Mt. Prospect Methodist Church is in place on the SAU campus. There’s still lots of work yet to be done: replace the bottom beams, put the rafters back, install a new roof, etc., etc. I can say this: that David Covey knows how to move buildings! It’s been a pleasure watching David and his daughter Amy move this big building. His company, D&E House Movers out of Hot Springs, also moved the other two vintage buildings to this location on campus.
Nearly home!
The old Mount Prospect Methodist Church was moved the final hundred yards just adjacent to its final destination! Now all that remains is picking it up off the trailer and setting it very carefully onto the piers where it will rest.
Were these two locomotives hauling 72 or 73 railway cars? I think I blinked! I’ve been passing time watching trains go by….
Sunday evening
Thought we might be going to see a tornado form out of this cloud so I watched it with my drone about 10 minutes. I sped this up five times normal speed so you didn’t have to watch the whole thing.

New roof
The grand old lady of steeples in Magnolia is getting a new hat! A couple guys from PI Roofing out of North Little Rock were replacing the old copper sheets with new at First United Methodist Church. It was a pretty fall day to take in the view. Sorry, I should have said autumn, not fall! 😉
Early morning flying around downtown Magnolia.
Out at the fairgrounds on a pretty Tuesday evening.
