Since this is the season for peace and love, I have a solution that can be applied to all here.
Several here want to eliminate the use of fossil fuels and they are adamant about it, regardless of the data presented. Net zero.
Here's what they need to personally do to satisfy their interests and fears. I will enumerate a few.
1. The first thing they can do is to rid themselves of their computers and the internet. Why? ALL parts of a computer and the internet are very much dependent on fossil fuels with little exception. If EV energy was even used to mine the minerals necessary the cost of computers and the internet would be so incredibly high they could no longer afford them.
Of course, the side benefit would be those of us with a lick of common sense would not have to listen to their continuous hysteria about the climate.
2. Housing. They need to build mud homes or stone homes using no mortar or nails as that also requires masses of energy to produce, especially mortar. Guess they could pound out their nails on a coal fired forge. LOL.
3. They could become hunter/gatherers once again, as no refrigeration would also decrease the load on the grid. Of course, individual wind or solar would also not be able to sustain household refrigeration. All they would have to do, in the colder climates, would be to chop and store ice. Screw those in warmer climates. And to quote Kamala Harris..."it's the science." Actually its the math.
4. They need to forsake all modern medicine as it is very much dependent on fossil fuels for both the product and the dispensation of modern medicine. And if you had taken any organic chemistry, you would already know that.
5. Food. They should grow ALL their own food or only purchase foods grown, or produced locally, eliminating farm equipment and transportation. And, of course, a LOT of jobs would also be eliminated in the process. Gonna really suck for the city people. Free ranging dog are not all that bad tasting. Cooking hint: Dog meatloaf is delicious. I actually mean that. If they can't screw them, too. Most don't produce much, anyway. But hey, we can depend on the kindness of the anti fossil fuel people to care for these people now out of a job or living in the cities. Right?
6. Transportation. Walking or getting a horse, maybe? Maybe in population dense areas we could have public transportation also powered by horses, as wind/solar are simply not enough to provide the transportation in our massively overpopulated cities. Again, per Harris, "it's the science."
The above solutions with make a major step in the goal of attaining net zero.
However, as individuals? Do your duty. Get rid of your tech products, build your own sod houses or stone house without mortar(the Inca's did it), no modern medicine and just live out your lives naturally, walk or horseback but no bikes as they require manufacturing using steel and a lot of heat, grow all your own food or become hunter/gatherers, make you own clothes out of natural fiber.
You can do it! I know you don't want to be hypocrites. If you considered it your personal adventure, you would not be such a pain in the ass to the rest of us.
