The classy H-1b Hudson led a consist not unlike the one it will take to Mexico City next spring: Two auxiliary tenders with extra water, two F-units and 15 cars. This week, CPKC brought Canadian Pacific 4-6-4 2816 out for its longest test run yet, this time to Lethbridge, Alberta, in preparation for next year's cross-continental tour to Mexico City. On Friday morning, the classy-looking Hudson stormed north out of Kipp Yard on CP's Aldersyde Subdivision. After an extensive rebuild by the CPKC steam team, this 92-year-old looks and sounds great!
On July 15, the Fort Steele Heritage Town near Cranbrook, British Columbia, celebrated the 100th anniversary of the construction of 2-6-2 locomotive 1077. Nickel Plate Road PA-4 190 is officially at its new home: Genesee Valley Transportation's shop in Scranton, Pa.
