One of our core values at Spoken Frame Media is “Education”. As a way to live out that value, yesterday we volunteered at Dane County School Consortium’s Future Quest. It’s an event where over 4500 middle school students learn about different career opportunities.

We were there to talk to students about career paths in media production. At our booth we set up an interactive activity where students could practice framing and focusing shots on lego sitcom sets. We also set up our video switcher for students to use and experience how we produce live events.

Thanks to all the students and exhibitors for participating, and to Dane County School Consortium for hosting!

Last Thursday-Sunday we filmed the 2024 Global Gathering of The Center for Courage and Renewal. While we were too busy to take BTS photos, here is Wesley recreating what he looked like using the gimbal.

When a group of UW students and alumni reached out to Spoken Frame Media for help with a short film, we discovered a great way to give back.

Outside of class, these blossoming filmmakers don’t have access to the gear needed to put their visions into practice.

And as a professional video production company, we have access to some cool stuff–including plenty of professional-grade cameras, lenses, microphones, and lights that we’re not using on a daily basis.

For the second year in a row, we’ve lent them our lesser-used equipment–free of charge.

To see what they’re creating and keep up with their production, check out

It’s Polar Plunge season! Wesley and Patrick captured photos and videos last weekend at the first plunge of the year in Wisconsin Rapids. We will be capturing photo and videos at 5 plunges around the state that raise money for Special Olympics Wisconsin. And maybe Wesley will be jumping at one of them too… 👀

Not every interview happens in an “ideal” recording location - and it doesn’t need to!

For this setup at Metcalfe’s Hilldale, we embraced the mid-day grocery store bustle as a backdrop to the interview.

We chose a quieter corner of the store and used only our core equipment for a minimal yet effective setup.

We brought in the Metcalf’s sign for a nice branded background.

We got each interviewee hooked up with a wireless lav mic.

And finally, we leaned into the checkout “beeps” as location-appropriate background noise.
