Audiobooks have their advantages, such as:
* At your fingertips and ease of access. You can listen to an audiobook anywhere using your smartphone or some other digital device.
* Portable and ease of storage. Audiobooks don’t need a physical bookshelf. They’re all stored digitally on the audio book app of your choosing. Therefore, they’re easy to carry around also.
* Multitask and fit more reading into your schedule. Audiobooks give you the chance to listen when you can’t read like while you’re driving. Listen while you’re at the gym, walking the dog, doing housework, gardening, or standing in line at the grocery.
* Pronunciation and Comprehension. Some books can be tough when it comes to pronunciation. Books can have names or locations that are fictional and difficult to pronounce, but audiobooks help with this. Audiobooks assist with comprehension and are a great way to expand your vocabulary also.
* Commute and Family time. Play an audiobook when you’re in the car with the kids. It’s a great way to share a book.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Choosing Your Book Title

Is your title original? Using a title that is the same or very similar to another book makes it hard for your title to stand out. Do your title research in advance.

Does the book title convey correctly the content of the book? It’s how your book introduces itself. The subtitle will explain the book and provide context.

Is the book title intriguing & compelling?

Is your title memorable? If your title is too short or too long, people won’t remember it.

Your book’s title is important. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

You must know your target audience first and foremost. You should be authentic in your writing by using your unique voice—it’s your brand. Consider starting your story with action, drama…a little spice in order to draw your readers in quickly. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Launch DO’S & DON’TS

- DO start planning early; three to six months in advance
- DO take advantage of all platforms of media (social media, audio, video, blogs, etc.)
- DO locate a great launch location. Face-to-face encounters are still beneficial
- DO provide merch, including free stuff
- DO put together a launch team

- DON’T take your audience for granted; engage them throughout your book writing & launch
- DON’T hide who you are; allow your personality to shine through
- DON’T allow your initial launch to be a “one and done”
