Today would have been my mom’s 94th birthday.
She was the light of my life… a ray of joy and sunshine to everyone who met her. Her love was felt always - to family, friends, strangers, her Hebrew School and Sunday School students at three synagogues. She’d invite students into our home to experience a Shabbat meal.
She served as our family cheerleader on any occasion - from when my dad ran for Congress (“we need a doctor in the House!”) to babysitting for her 9 grandchildren. She took time on Sunday mornings - with her address book in hand - to call her cousins during her visits to Chicago. She was an angel to us and so many. Just wanted to acknowledge her on the day of her birth….21 years have flown by… and her spirit still lives on.

In 2022, Joel and I enjoyed an amazing, informative golf cart tour of Interlochen Center for the Arts by a volunteer, alum and historian -- Margaret Beery. I was so enchanted by her memories that I quickly grabbed my cell phone and started recording her ! I kept them stored in my phone along with photos to treasure.
Sadly enough, Margaret passed away recently, before we could see her again during our most recent visit. I shared my audio files and photos with Interlochen, and now -- those recordings are being made public on Interlochen ! How
