Title: “Lost Iconic 80s German Pop Music Video Found: Du Hast - IST PACMAN” - From the article series “What’s in your Attic?” by Ronnie Visette, reporter for The Middletown Monthly, June 2018.
Randall Hack (nephew of the late Hans Hammerstein, Du Hast),cast/crew-member for Trimungus, found an old Betamax tape of the video “IST PACMAN” in a chest of objects that were bequeathed to him from the Hammerstein Estate. The video aired briefly in the Eastern Bloc of Europe during the mid-1980s when the song had gained popularity on the radio. The video was reportedly banned due to what has been described as “hardcore ghost pornography,” depicting the title character “PACMAN” engaging in lewd acts with two of his ghost frenemies. It is also speculated that capitalist Western influence was the reason for the ban (despite PACMAN being a creation of Namco of Japan, the character was anthropomorphized as a cartoon by the United States.)
After discovering the missing tape, Mr. Hack turned it over to Monty Turtletaub (Executive Producer, Trimungus Productions) for restorization, digitization and distribution among the Internet’s major streaming media sites such as Shulu, Notflix and Cash4GoldRightNow.com. Turtletaub - having been the producer of the song and one who initially discovered Du Hast - was more than happy to invest the time and resources into restoring what he called a “lost iconic pop song of the batin' 80’s.”
Tragically, Hans Hammerstein was accidentally killed during the band’s initial climb before they grew to a notable popularity. The group was performing soundcheck for their inaugural European tour when Hammerstein was electrocuted during a Keytar solo when his bandmate Klaus Ennricson performed a “Goldene Dusche” at the peak of the melody.
