Look, I'm a BIG fan of using what you have and getting your awesomeness out in the world no matter what, but if you're podcast is part of your business or livelihood, let's upgrade your quality - and be sure to set standards for your guests as well.

P.S. Even if you're just podcasting as a hobby or as part of your healing journey, there are still some very inexpensive setups if you want to elevate your audio quality - cheaper than a Yeti even! HMU for my favs; I'm happy to share!

On a daily basis, we are drawn in or turned off by the voices in the media we consume.

Whether we like the sound of a certain voice or not, voiceovers evoke emotion. They may excite us over a movie or product, or cause concern over societal issues. Either way, each and every one of us has been swayed to feel one way or another by voice overs.

A quality voiceover can make a world of difference for your project as they have the power to alter the effectiveness of content and provoke thought and emotion in viewers and listeners.

The right voiceover is an effective way to pique the interest of your audience and spread your message.

No matter the medium, voiceover serves as a necessary audible marker to get a message to your audience.

Always be sure to choose the absolute BEST voice to fit the needs of your project or promo.

Or maybe a podcast?? It could be a different book every season, then it would be on demand instead of tuning in somewhere in the middle.

You could do public domain books, or work with authors who might like to do have their stuff out there in this way.

Anyway, podcast and audiobook in one sounds like a dream come true to me!

We're rebranding!

When I first started this journey, I was simply providing podcast production, so this name seemed fitting - plus, I'll be honest, it was available and I wanted to get my business and my site set up quickly.

Buuuuuut, now that we offer a full suite of audio storytelling services, this no longer seemed to capture who we are as a business.

After an extensive brain dump and a lot of research, I've narrowed our new possible name down to two options.

Recording : Pause for 5-10 seconds at the beginning of your recording to allow your editor to create a noise profile for your recording environment.

During these few seconds try not to make any noise. Stay backed away from the mic and try to stay still. Make sure there's nothing on like fans, fridges, or air conditioners that won't be on during your recording.

(Ideally, you want to make sure these things are off or that you are far away from where your mic can pick them up, but for the sake of creating a consistent noise profile, you want to make sure the conditions are the same no matter what they might be.)

This is why they've become the gold standard of audiobooks as they have very specific requirements that must be met when it comes to content, setup, sound, levels, bit rate, noise floor, and more.

These requirements are what make a quality audiobook, but they can be a bit tricky to set up, if you're not familiar with recording and editing.

Every author, every podcaster, has that moment where they wonder why they're doing what they do, why they put all the effort in and if it's really worth it.

I'm here to tell you absolutely is worth it.

Telling your story can be very cathartic for you - but you also never know whose wounds you might be helping heal with your words.

So - finish that book, start that podcast, and take a moment to forget all about downloads and sales and think about the people who might really need what you have inside you.

Do not leave this earth with your story still inside you.

Telling our story is good for the soul. It's therapeutic and cathartic sometimes we just NEED to get it out.

Not only do we need to get it out, but there are folks out there who really need to hear your story.

So, write that book, start that podcast, do it imperfectly, just do it. For yourself, and for that person out there who needs what you have.
