I am home after spending a few days in Nashville, Tennessee at a cartel conference. While there, we got to meet Margarito "Jay" Flores (in the gray shirt and black pants), who is twin brother of Pedro Flores. Both twins ran a drug trafficking operation out of Chicago.

They managed to work directly under El Chapo and recorded El Chapo making deals while they were informants for the DEA. They testified in El Chapo's trial, and were instrumental in finding him guilty.

This dude got mad at me for taking his picture. The debate continues, is it ethical to ask for consent before taking a photo of a person while in a public place? I tried to explain to him that when I'm in public spaces, where I am lawfully present, I have the right to photograph anything or anyone that is in plain view. He would not take any of it.

I started playing around with an AI software where you enter words and it generates imaginary images based on the words. I entered a portion of a paragraph from my book Borderland Beat and this was one of the images I got. It generated a total of 8 pictures, each one capable of a story within.

The Spanish definition of a "sicario" is hitman. In the Mexican cartel world, a sicario is a hired gun. Cartels employ sicarios to enforce the will of the cartel, to protect the trafficking of drugs and to protect a plaza from rival cartels. Sometimes they engage police officers or military forces. They perform executions, conduct torture and instill intimidation to advance the will of the cartel. Sometimes sicarios are people who have some training in weapons or tactics. They could be former or active police officers or military personnel. Many times, they are just kids off the street who can pull the trigger. This picture was created with AI software.

On June 2020 the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and ANTIFA had taken over the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle, WA that included the Seattle Police East Precinct that had been previously abandoned by the police. The autonomous zone first known as CHOP and later changed to CHAZ was under the total control of BLM and Antifa. One day, several people showed up in the middle of an area park to protest the "take over." They were immediately confronted by ANTIFA, that included a couple of the men who appeared to be armed. This person in the picture pulled out a handgun and challenged some of the men, who backed off. He looked directly at me and walked towards me. It appeared that he was not sure who I was but knew I was taking his picture. I was so focused on the picture that at that moment I did not realize my predicament. Later, I realized this could had potentially turn violent as many times one can’t predict their reaction knowing that I was taking his picture or even get caught in a cross fire.

Some journalists were manhandled, threatened and had their equipment stolen or damaged during the riot on January 6, 2021 at the U.S. Capitol. In one striking image, the words “Murder the Media” were scrawled on an indoor doorway at the Capitol.

AP photographer, John Minchillo, is shown in this video being pushed, pulled and punched by a group of men standing outside of the Capitol. Some of the attackers are heard accusing him of being part of the left-wing group Antifa; Minchillo holds up his hands and show his press credentials.

I am primarily a still photographer that shoots almost anything. A couple of years ago I started doing some assignments as a freelancer for the wire. I made some trips last year, that included Portland covering Antifa on the assault on the federal courthouse. I made some money when I captured the Portland Mayor, Ted Wheeler, joining Antifa during the riot. Another thing I started doing during the Portland trip was to capture some video. I had a Youtube channel where I started downloading some of my videos, primarily just to document the behind the scenes. Then later, right after the Washington DC Capitol trip, Youtube decided to delete my channel with all my content. I had about 1,800 subscribers. It was the same time when Facebook banned me for 30 days. I gave up on the Youtube channel. Lately some people have been asking about some of my video and I decided to start all over with with a Youtube channel with zero subscribers. This will allow me to have it available. Over 10,500 people from Haiti on the border of Del Rio, Texas, waiting to be processed. There is a report that another 10,000 are moving across Mexico making their way to the border creating a crisis never seen before. They could very easily rush in and there is nothing the border patrol could do to stop it.
