🎉Congratulations to Tracy Lewis, Branch Officer, for graduating from The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut's Leadership Eastern CT Program!

For over 35 years, the Leadership Eastern CT Program has prepared promising community leaders for positions of responsibility by acquainting them with current issues and processes that affect the region over a course of two years. Additionally, newly-learned skills and knowledge are put to the test during a comprehensive community service project for the benefit of a local non-profit.

We're beyond proud of Tracy Lewis and the entire Leadership Eastern Connecticut Class of 2024 not only for their successful completion of the program, but for their continued dedication to the betterment of the community. Please join us is celebrating this amazing achievement!

Join Andrea Buka of Glimmering Girl Studio on Saturday, July 13th at 10:30 am for Transforming Tees! Upcycle Sewing Workshop.
Transform a well-loved, outgrown, or slightly damaged shirt into a string backpack!

Create a design from your idea and then safely use a sewing machine, scissors, and other tools to finish your project. Please bring a t-shirt (or two!), sports jersey, sweatshirt, or other top to cut up for the project, if possible. (There will be a small selection of shirts available.) All tools and supplies are provided. Adult helpers are welcome too!

East Lyme Parks and Recreation has partnered with Power Station New England at Sonalysts Studios for a once in a lifetime experience for middle and high school aspiring musicians!

This Music Camp will give campers an immersive experience in playing and recording music, and will allow campers to actively engage in the music recording process, culminating in the production of a fully mixed recording.

Campers MUST have at least intermediate proficiency with a musical instrument/vocals, or an interest in the technical side of music making.

Calling all artists! Design a shirt for our 3rd Annual Author Event!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our T-Shirt Design Contest in celebration of the 3rd Annual Author Event with Hampton Sides! This is your chance to showcase your creativity and contribute to the library! Hampton Sides’ new book, The Wide Wide Sea is about the last voyage of Captain Cook to the islands of Hawaii and is a gripping tale of adventure on the high seas. We are looking to have a t-shirt available to commemorate the event.

- Submission Deadline: August 5, 2024
- How to Enter: Submit your design to [email protected] with the subject line “T-Shirt Design Contest Entry.”
- Ocean/Ship/Explorer themed with the Words “3rd Annual Mystic & Noank Library Author Event with Hampton Sides” incorporated.

Gail is proud of her carrots!

Gail helped prepare the carrot rows and subsequently direct seeded the carrots using our Jang JP-1 hand seeder on May 2. It's amazing how such small seeds can provide such healthy vegetables for the United Way Food Distribution Center.

Happy Summer! The Thomas Lee House is now open for tours. House hours are: Wednesday thru Sunday 1pm till 4pm. Our address is 228 West Main St Niantic. Stop by say hi and explore one of the oldest houses in Connecticut still in its primitive state. Our tours are free but donations are kindly accepted and will help with the up-keep of the house and all the wonderful programs we offer year round. Looking for a private tour? We do that too! KidSpeak™ is a fun, age-appropriate online language course designed for children ages 6 and up! Accessible through Transparent Language Online, KidSpeak introduces your children to English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Mandarin Chinese. The program teaches words and phrases suitable for learners’ age, needs, and interests.
