Northern Utah will see abundant sunshine today, while south-central, east-central, and southeast parts of the state will be mainly cloudy with a chance for showers and thunderstorms.

The Flash Flood Potential is possible in our recreation areas today.
Our extended forecast shows lots of sunny and mild days.

Temperatures will be close to average this weekend, and Monday will warm to 5 to 10 degrees above normal.

Northern Utah will have a nice day on Friday, with partly cloudy skies and mild seasonal temperatures. The chance for showers and thunderstorms will increase in Southwest Utah tomorrow afternoon, with a good opportunity overnight for showers and thunderstorms.

These thunderstorms will continue Saturday over the southern third of Utah, with some storms reaching the mountains of Central and Northern Utah. On Saturday, there is a possibility of flash flooding in all of our recreation areas.

Cooler temperatures on Monday with partly cloudy skies and a few showers over the Uinta and La Sal Mountains.

Partly cloudy to sunny skies will bring pleasant weather for the middle of next week.

Today, cooler-than-average temperatures and partly cloudy skies will start to move closer to the average of 80 tomorrow.

A new storm system will impact Utah, especially Southern Utah, on Friday and Saturday.

Weather for the weekend looks very nice, with near-average temperatures and partly cloudy skies.

A weak storm will brush by the area on Monday, but it looks too weak to bring much in the way of wet weather. It will keep temperatures mild on Monday, but the ridge of high pressure will cause it to get much warmer by Tuesday.

Much cooler today with showers and thunderstorms at times, decreasing tonight.

Only a slight chance Wednesday through Friday, especially in the afternoon and evening hours over Northern Utah.

The weekend looks good, with spotty thunderstorms Saturday in Eastern Utah and Sunday turning mostly sunny and warmer.

There is a marginal risk for today. You can see the area of highest risk in the green area on graphic three. Some storms will have microburst winds over 60 mph, large hail 3/4 of an inch or larger, plus frequent deadly and possible .

More showers and thundershowers on Tuesday in the North, while the south will turn dry. In fact, it looks like Wednesday and Thursday the storm will pivot from a new upper low coming into Southern California. There will be a few showers and thundershowers, but not strong or severe.

Friday and Saturday, the second upper low will pull across the state. It will bring spotty thunderstorms to Southern Utah, with more numerous showers and thundershowers across the North. Temperatures will begin to moderate to the warmer side, into the low and mid-70s over the weekend.

Hot and Breezy Today, Then turning cooler, wetter and windy in my weather forecast for Good Day Utah, Weekend Edition on FOX 13 News.
Here is a look at my weather forecast on FOX 13 News for Good Day Utah, Weekend Edition:

Wind advisories were issued for portions of Nevada and West Central and Southwest Utah. Some gusts will be 40 to 55 mph over the next few days. Even the Wasatch Front will see some gusts over 40 mph.

Temperatures will rise into the 90s today, with a few afternoon and evening thunderstorms. There will be more wind tomorrow and Tuesday, with widespread showers and thunderstorms.

Much cooler Tuesday through Friday, with showers and thundershowers at times. Partly cloudy for Saturday, however, it looks like another storm will arrive on Sunday and Monday of next week. It does remain cooler than average all week and into the weekend.

It will be hot today, but it's going to be much cooler tomorrow. Gusty southerly winds will shift to the west and northwest behind a cold front due to arrive early tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, smoky skies will remain over the Beehive state through Thursday.

Things calm down on Friday and Saturday. Smoke will be concentrated in Central and Southern Utah on Friday, but it will probably return to the remainder of the state over the weekend.

Another strong storm system will bring gusty winds on Sunday and Monday, with a higher chance for thunderstorms on Monday and a chance for thunderstorms on Tuesday. Another storm is forecast for Thursday.

There is some hope these approaching storms will have enough moisture to help douse the wildfires burning in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.

The Healing Fields Flags Memorial in Sandy, Utah:

As we remember those who perished in the attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City, here is a flag for each one of those who died that day and the days to follow. 9/11/2001 was a terrible day. And, many of us remember it clearly. I recall exactly where I was when this happened. Do you remember where you were?

Let us hope and pray this never happens again.

A Big Change in The Weather in the Coming Days:

There are a few thunderstorms today, especially over Southern and Eastern Utah; some flash flooding will likely cause gulleys and slot canyons to fill rapidly. A few thunderstorms will arrive along the Wasatch Front between 5 and 8 PM, with increasingly gusty southerly winds.

The winds will spread over Utah on Wednesday, with a fairly rapid decline in thunderstorm activity. Smoke from Southern California's wildfires will move over all of Utah, and then even more wildfire smoke will come in from the Pacific Northwest behind a gusty cold front early Thursday.

Some thunderstorms will accompany the front, with Red Flag Warnings issued for much of our region. Temperatures will be 25 degrees cooler on Thursday.

The weather will be nice, but cool and refreshing on Friday and Saturday. It, unfortunately, may remain rather smoky going into the weekend.

Early next week, my new computer charts indicate monsoon moisture (from a tropical storm south of Baja California) will move northward over the Great Basin. Several strong weather systems will keep it wetter and cooler next week.
