When visiting Japan make sure you visit this website before you land and complete this. You will get an immigration QR code and a declaration QR code.

This will save you some time at customs. Also once you clear customs (getting your stamp and showing your immigration QR code) you'll see a couple of lines to get out of the airport, if you have NOTHING to declare your line is to the right. Stop at the declaration kiosk then use your declaration QR code and passport, once you do those 2 things then you exit the airport.
