Construction on the new open-air pavilion is scheduled to begin today, Monday 28th, and will continue through mid-December.

During construction, sections of the trails will be closed. Red paths indicate closed trails. Navy blue paths indicate open trails. Please avoid the red paths and respect all signage indicating closures.

Anyone need some BBQ stress relief after the hurricane scare?

We are postponing our opening today until 2pm! We are rolling out a super special Hurricane Menu and it includes our Big Lee’s Smash Burgers and our Mississippi Delta Blues - Blueberry Moonshine Wings (the wings that took Bobby Flay down for a second consecutive time!!!).

Spread the word, we will be open today! Service will be fast! The food will be delicious and we are all going to make the best of being so blessed to escape any serious damage to our community!

Our thoughts, prayers and actions are with our friends in communities that were severely impacted by Hurricane Idalia.

Marion County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29, and Wednesday, Aug. 30, due to shelter preparation in anticipation of the effects of Tropical Storm Idalia.

All extra-curricular activities planned for this afternoon are canceled, with the exception of the Marion Afterschool Program.

We encourage our community to prepare now before the onset of severe weather.

The following schools will be open as shelters:

Beginning this evening at 5 p.m.
West Port High School will be open as a special needs shelter.

Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 8 a.m.
Forest High School
Horizon Academy at Marion Oaks
Lake Weir High School (Pet-Friendly)
North Marion Middle School
Vanguard High School (Pet-Friendly)

For updates from Marion County on the storm and shelters, citizens can call the Citizen's Information Line at (352) 369-7500.
