Friday workouts.

Lawn care has been one of the main solutions I have provided to my clients since day one.

Up until 2018, I had done all the weekly lawn care myself. With business expansion and beginning another business, I had to delegate the lawn care to others.

At the beginning of this season, I was left with no options other than to jump back into doing it myself.

Even though there are far more big daily problems for me to solve and an insane amount more responsibilities on me, I needed to invest the time one day a week to serve the lawn care needs.

The only way I could do it was to change my mindset. I no longer looked at it as mowing or lawn care, it became my workout.

It’s a day once a week where I can be outside hustling, pushing, working out. It’s a workout because I average 28-34k steps each workout day.

Don’t get me wrong, with the weight of the world working to crush me, it’s one of the last things I want to do each week. Yet, I must do it.

There are times in life where I really don’t want to do things, that’s where I have to lean in and just get them done.

Real talk, yesterday was the first time this entire year I actually did any sort of digging.

There are weeds growing around the tracks of my 325.

I took on gcing a house to completion at the beginning of the year. I anticipated it being about 4-5months to complete.

8months in and we are nearing the finish line of the original scope of work. Then there is the huge punch list.

I like building and gc work. I very much prefer shaping the earth.

It has been a blessing to see these clients finally get their house after a very very long extended house build. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help provide them solutions.

I do need to get back in the dirt. Thankfully I’ve been able to keep the machines. I am very much ready for them to finally start to earn some cash flow instead of just be a straight out expense.

Here’s to serving people’s dirt and tree work needs shortly.

Wallpaper.

Listen, I still hear the word wallpaper and there’s a part of me that gets sick on the inside. I grew up in the 80’s, talk about excessive amounts of wallpaper.

So I’m not a fan of wallpaper really at all. Yet wallpaper done well as an accent is growing on me a little bit.

The craftsman who installed some wallpaper this weekend did an amazing job🤘🏼

Using it in my own house is not something I would choose to do. I believe I could be talked into it in a strategic accent location.

Two drills?

It’s always a good day when the task is more productive with two drills and an impact.

We’ve been working steadily on installing the oak cap to the top of the wainscoting. fasteners are amazing. We still have to fully pre drill the very ends of each section to avoid random splitting.

Progress.

We aren’t doing much dirt work right now because of a focus on another project.

It’s a little different, yet the basics are the same, serve a client while solving problems.

The guys are just killing it and I’m very grateful for the team that I have.
