What is Pedaddleack, exactly? To say the least, it's an annual, Arkansas-based and focused, adventure magazine. The word Pedaddleack is a portmanteau, or a blend of parts of other words in which their sounds and their meanings are combined into a new word. In the case of Pedaddleack, we combined the words pedal, paddle, and pack. Ped-addle-ack. Isn't that fun to say?! Please, feel free to say it a

ll you want. Word of mouth! Viva voce! Wondering what you might find within the pages of Pedaddleack? To put it simply, you will find adventure. Is there more than just activities associated with pedaling, paddling, and packing? Are there contests with cash prizes? We'd tell you more, but you like to explore, right? The debut issue will come out in April! Copies will be distributed at various locations throughout the state. Subscriptions will be available, as well.

For our , we'd like to pay homage to a woman who contributed quite a lot to us Arkansas adventurers. By a lot, we're referring to a 160 acre lot. Granny Henderson was one of the last private owners of the land that now comprises the 95,000 acre . While Granny didn't exactly give up her land without a fight, and her story may not have the happy ending she desired, we are forever grateful for her contribution/sacrifice. Granny lived her life in a way that, and in a place where, many people today can only experience in a dream—but not us. We can live that dream, if just for a weekend, thanks to folks like Eva Barnes Henderson.
