Who Is Palidor?

Palidor is a musician and performer from the northeastern U.S. who strives to take his listeners on increasingly complex journeys through unique and dark blends of techno.

Born in Erie, Pennsylvania as Sean Murray, Palidor was trained in jazz and classical piano, trumpet, and voice at the D’Angelo Conservatory of Music. His intuition for rhythms led to his involvement with local marching bands, symphonies, experimental jazz bands, and even ska bands.

After a brief run at majoring in music composition for a year, he felt a tug-of-war in his heart and ultimately returned to his second love: computers. Although this took him on a decade-long detour that gave him a scientific understanding of the universe, things always have a way of coming full circle. In 2013, Palidor was invited to his first rave by his friend, Kim, and was instantly hooked on Drum & Bass. Due to his innate desire to learn new things, he began seeking ways to perform like the artists at the raves he was attending. At the recommendation of his friend, Angela, he began taking classes at Mmmmaven in Cambridge, MA, which was quickly becoming his second home.

Unfortunately, in 2015, a sickness in his family put a damper on future plans and led him to relocate back to Pennsylvania for a year. Despite the circumstances, this provided him an opportunity to hone his newly acquired DJ skills, as well as to begin exploring production. This led to his throwing small basement parties that quickly expanded to various local venues.

Palidor eventually decided to move to the West Coast to fulfill his dreams of being a DJ and producer. He spent a year meeting amazing people and even worked closely with other producers in a weekly beat cipher held at Garnish School of Music in West Hollywood. Unfortunately, another emergency in the family forced his destiny to once again relocate back to the East Coast.

Moving back to Boston, MA, he spent 2018 reacquainting himself with old friends and new while regrouping his plans for music endeavors. Over the course of 2019, Palidor has become heavily involved in the techno scene, linking up with various DJs and producers. His love and support for Infra, a Boston techno collective, helped jumpstart his passion for DJing once again, leading to two shows at The Phoenix Landing in Cambridge, MA -- one of which was a headline spot in early December 2019.

In September 2019, Palidor teamed up with friend and fellow DJ/producer DoubleUngood to start a record label with the purpose of empowering fellow artists from Boston (and the world) to deliver their music to the masses to experience. This meeting of the minds resulted in a desire to provide a vessel for techno (and other future genres) in which their dark energy and emotion can be amplified through music into a more positive outlet that can be shared with others.
