The company was founded in 1996 by Nesim Hason, a successful international distributor who established himself within the film industry in multiple capacities starting in 1980. Nesim has been committed to bridging the distance between the United States and the rest of the world by consistently striving to blend both foreign and American cultures, introducing American films to the foreign marketpla

ce and distributing commercial projects which appeal to movie-goers worldwide. New Films International is currently headquartered in Los Angeles and also has distribution offices throughout Eastern Europe and an office in Istanbul, Turkey. New Films Cinema is committed to theatrically releasing a minimum of 10 films per year in the domestic market with its own P&A commitment as well as executing aggressive marketing campaigns to support their US releases. Recent NFC successes include The Lightkeepers, starring Academy Award winner Richard Dreyfuss and Golden Globe nominee Blythe Danner, Burning Palms, starring Zoe Saldana and Dylan McDermott, Turning Green, starring Academy Award winner Timothy Hutton, and the horror film, Chain Letter, starring Nikki Reed (Twilight Saga) and Betsy Russell (Saw franchise). NFC’s 2012 slate includes the release of Flying Lessons starring Academy Award winner Christine Lahti, Academy Award nominee Hal Holbrook and Maggie Grace (Taken, Twilight Saga) and Connie Steven’s Directorial debut of Saving Grace B. Jones, starring Academy Award winner Tatum O’Neal, Golden-Globe nominee Penelope Ann Miller and Michael Biehn (Grease, Aliens, Tombstone). NFI acquires 8 - 10 titles per year through attendance at major domestic and international festivals and markets. Since 1996, the company has acquired 48 feature films for its international library, including Game 6, starring Michael Keaton and Robert Downey Jr.; Marie & Bruce, starring Julianne Moore and Matthew Broderick; Off the Map, starring Joan Allen, Sam Elliot and Amy Brenneman; and The Dying Gaul, directed by Campbell Scott and starring Patricia Clarkson and Peter Sarsgaard. Following the similar successful plan that Hason has been implementing in the foreign markets since 1980, NFI strengthened its strategic distribution alliances by partnering with Lionsgate-Tisa to distribute the NFI catalogue on TV and VOD in Latin America, Germany, France, UK and Spain. Previously NFI participated in a six-year all-TV rights output deal with MGM throughout Latin America, and signed an all-rights output deal with WARNER BROS. NFI also has a US output deal with IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT for DVD, TV and ancillary rights, with BBI for all rights in Benelux, ONE MOVIE for all rights in Italy, FALCON FILMS for all rights in the Middle East, HORIZON for all rights in Turkey, MONOLITH for all rights in Poland, CALIFORNIA FILMS for theatrical and DVD rights in Brazil, QUALITY FILMS for theatrical and DVD rights in Mexico, and with NORDISK for all rights in Scandinavia. In addition, NFI has been in recent negotiations with two other major studios. The company plans to continue to leverage these strong relationships to further their exposure and outlets in North America as well.
