There is a slight risk of excessive rainfall in the Sierra Nevada foothills and Sierra Nevada below 8,000 feet from 4 AM PST Friday morning until 4 AM PST Saturday morning. The combination of heavy rainfall and rapid snow melt will cause water levels to rise on area rivers and streams, resulting in the possibility of flooding.

06/03/2023

A much warmer storm system will impact Central California Thursday night through Saturday, resulting in the likelihood of rain in the Sierra Nevada foothills and Sierra Nevada below 8,000 feet. The majority of this precipitation will fall Friday and Friday night. The combination of heavy rainfall and rapid snow melt will cause water levels to rise on area rivers and streams, resulting in the possibility of flooding.

The “Talk of the Hill” Story

The “Talk of the Hill” page and group was inspired by the need for knowledge in our local mountain communities when the #CreekFire hit Central California. Jeff Aiello quickly took to Facebook Live after he, his wife, Jill and friends were evacuated from Beasore Meadows - a place near and dear to their hearts but, especially Jeff’s. We have spent many summer’s (and winter’s by snowmobile) up the hill and couldn’t fathom the thought of it being burned in the single largest fire in California’s history. That’s when Jeff began his info-rich live broadcasts for friends in the area - which quickly turned into live broadcasts to everyone up the hill - EVERY HILL. We hope to fill a void for our mountain communities with information they need at their finger tips. Whether it be a fire or something else down the road - we hope that we can continue to help our friends with the news they need.
