Thank God for the beautiful rainfall valley wide, and a big rain too, with no flooding!
Thank you Lord for drying up our sorting pens before the next gulf rain event. He made all this happen just in time for the "first weaning day of the season." It was great success. We'll be doing this every 3 weeks or so for the rest of the summer.
In January, we AI'd 19 females to calve in the fall. We used 3 bulls from our Pine Ridge Inventory plus our own Revolution Bull whose had foundational impact on our program. We covered this group using new genetics from our long time family friend Vic Guerra who shared with us a grandson of the LMC LN polled Pappo 136/6 they are using to anchor their brahman program. We call him the RED ANSWER.
We just finished blood testing these baby dolls to confirm they'll begin calving late September and on through the fall season.

THANKS to our good friend Jimmy Pawlik for his recent purchase of 3 of our bulls. New to the Simbrah family, Jimmy is off to a great start using 2 solid red meat wagons both going back to Smith CRC Lubbock 36B and the third one sired by PRR Signet 133E.
Both H555 and K827 have dams from our senior herd sire for many years, PRR Revolution 739B.
Our FireBall daughters are producing some awesome progeny. This young son by our Revolution bull is a fine example. Coming out of the bull test at Rio Beef, he's attracted lots of attention to our bull program. Outstanding cnfirmation, color correct, carcuss quality, easy keepers and easy to handle.
We have wrapped up calving season with these spring bred first time heifers. Look at the Udders!

These 20 extra fancy 20 month old heifers just got bred to 3 high impact blazed faced black nose bulls to make an exciting start up to calving season next September. We got it going on at Monte Christo Cattle Co.!

In next Saturday's Synergy XVI sale is MCR Carolina King J133 who, as a high performance production cow, may have the most potential of any heifer in the sale. Her sire HR Mr Strack C6 is a LMC Red Alert son out of a BHR Doorn (South African) daughter named T5 Yucatan.
The dam to J133 has a lifetime calving interval 353 days and an adjusted weaning weight average of 710 lbs. on 9 calves in a row. This moderate solid red, slick haired black nosed heifer has an outstanding milk EPD with a beautiful udder and a great future.
We AI'd her at 18 months of age to Fireball on 2/24/23 and pasture exposed her to PRR Quest for the following 60 days. She palpated 6 months bred the last week of August indicating a calf around Christmas. She'll be a great asset to any herd. DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!

MCR Red Blondie J15 Is a Smith McCreary Fireball daughter out of our current Senior herd Sire MCX Maximus.
This is as smooth a heifer as you`ll ever see as in the photo her top line is perfectly parallel to the panel bar behind her.
She has a great disposition, a beautiful udder and great breeding behind her on both sides of her pedigree.
We have a number of Fireball daughters in our herd now and they are all consistent producers and superior milking mamma cows .
We A'Id MCR Red Blondy J15 on 2-24-23 when she was 18 months old to the PRR Revolution bull and then she was exposed to PRR Quest there after for 60 days. The Quest bull is a Shear Force grandson and is also solid red and black nosed.
She was palpated safe 5 months pregnant on 8/29 for a December calf.

Just back from a great weekend in Henderson Texas at the Fall Fest Sale, meeting new customers and renewing old friendships. The sale was a great success and Monte Christo was favored with the highest selling lot Bred Simbrah Heifers going to Lee Cattle company who took “OH BABY” back to Mississippi along with BAR BANDITA.
Thanks also to many times repeat buyer and longtime friends, Bill and Jane Travis for their purchase of 3 beautiful Bred Heifers.
Many in attendance commented that this was the best and classiest sale ever presented by the East Texas Simmental/Simbrah Association due to the enormous effort and tireless work done by our good friend Kenneth Airheart with K5 Rafter Top Simmentals.

We've been told MCR OH BABY J32 is a pre-sale favorite. As with all these Revolution daughter's, she is moderate with very deep build and perfect udder. OH BABY is a granddaughter of LMC Red Alert and her dam is from Strack Farms and has an outstanding production history of a 400 day calving interval and an average weaning wt. of 705 lbs. on 5 calves.
OH BABY was pasture exposed to PRR Signet 11H for 60 days and palpated 6 months pregnant on 8/29/23, indicating a late December calf.
OUR TWO FEATURES FOR TODAY ARE:
MCR Bueno Ivory J29 is another Revolution heifer out of a cow we bought from Mrs. Sally Buxkemper. Sally used a Smith Evan son named McCreary Call Me Easy to produce this heifers dam, RX Ms Shiraz, who has produced 3 awesome heifers in a row for us so we are going to share this one in the HOTTSSA sale. This is a moderate sized cow, even so her dam has an adjusted weaning wt of 712 lbs on 6 calves .
We AI'd Bueno Ivory to Fireball on 12/12/22 and as with the others exposed her to Signet after that.
She palpated 6 months pregnant last week, so chances are she'll bring a Fireball into your Christmas celebration!
MCR Shu Fly J55 is a Unanimous Decision daughter we bought from Kevin Kent and brought back to Texas all the way from Georgia. We are still using this unique bull with positive impact in our herd. The dam is a RFI Real Deal daughter with Smith Nu Wave II as the grandsire. This heifers' dam is a great milker with a very solid performance pedigree.
We AI'd her on 12/24/22 to our RF Revolution bull and used Signet to cover for another 60 days. She palpated 6 months bred last week and should deliver around Christmas.

We exposed her to PRR Signet for 60 days. She's palpated to calve in early January-Beautiful, color correct, outstanding pedigree and docile.
MCR Bar Bandita J26 is a Unanimous Decision daughter. Her Sire is a half brother to the Revolution Bull and delivers a broody fertile herd builder with great EPD's highlighted by a TI of 91. She is color correct with perfect goggle eyes and a docile nature.
We AI'd this beautiful heifer on 2/24/23 to RFI Red Raider and pasture exposed to PRR Signet for 60 days. Thereafter she's palpated safe to calve in December at a very comfortable 27 months of age.

With the first of June at hand, we have begun our weaning program. See the attached video of the first group foraging in deep grass from all the rain of the previous 6 weeks. These calves are currently being backgrounded on protein supplement and rich forage for 75 days when the steers and heifers will be separated for the development programs
We will continue this process with another group every 30 to 45 days all summer till everything is weaned. Watch for more videos of the heifers as the programs develop!
