Unpopular opinion over heard today: Ease of access to fi****ms legally is not the problem, ease of access to fi****ms obtained illegally is the problem. Somehow this touched my souls because (as a complaint) I don’t hear much about crimes committed with fi****ms obtained illegally, it’s almost like it’s the norm, shrugged off, so common most people say “welp they’re dumb” and move on. Crimes committed with legally obtained fire arms(quick searched roughly 6 percent) happen at a fraction of the percentage of crimes committed with illegally obtained fi****ms(quick searched roughly 48 percent). So the question remains to me is where does the problem really fall? Now I’m not a huge advocate but I do believe in my right to bear arms. I also believe if you break the law (insert Jim Carey Liar Liar phrase here)…… regardless if you don’t break the law you have nothing to worry about so why punish the law abiding citizen for what the non-law abiding citizen commits? It’s only going to force law abiding citizens to have two choices. First, continue to abide by the law(which we will likely do) or second, become a non-law abiding citizen to defend the rights set forth by our fore-fathers and founders of this country. Does this make sense logically or am the crazy one? Most will likely say I’m the crazy one in order to avoid responsibility, deny accountability, and ultimately adapt the “I’m right, you’re wrong” statement with no reasoning to support their statement. To those I say, I live my life, I love my life, and I will continue to do so without support to my statement nor change because you said so. Keeping in mind that medical hindrance of purchasing a firearm is off the table simply because if someone can not purchase legally due to medical circumstances then they obtained the fi****ms illegally thus supporting my statement.
